The producers of Lin-Manuel Miranda's musical Hamilton have invited actors to submit video auditions for stand-by roles in the London production.

Producers are seeking male actors in their 20s and 30s of all ethnic backgrounds who are able to sing, rap and act. Actors can send brief videos of themselves performing one pop/rock song and one rap song via YouTube or Vimeo.

To be considered, actors must send their video along with a current photo and CV to [email protected] (see full details below).

The deadline to submit auditions is 7 June, with recalls taking place in London the following week. Successful applicants must be available to start auditions in September, and for a one-year contract until November 2018.

Initial casting for the musical has been announced and includes Giles Terera, Rachelle Ann Go, Rachel John and Obioma Ugoala.

Hamilton will open at the Victoria Palace Theatre on 7 December, with previews from 21 November.

Celebrity Crush Challenges

I frequently have celebrity crushes, but sometimes it's a real challenge. I recently watched an urban fantasy/horror film called "The Devil Conspiracy" that I thought had Peter Mensah in the lead role (the archangel Michael). Then it turned out that for the majority of the plot, the archangel takes on the body of a human, so he is played almost exclusively by another actor. (Btw, the film is not that great.) I've had this celebrity crush challenge before, with actors who often only play minor supporting roles. For instance, there is a German-French actor who I like, but often he plays the following in several different crime shows: the victim, the suspect, the grieving relative or friend of the victim and so on. And there are lots or crime shows on German television.😅

What's your social change role? It is important to remember: 1) "Tip of the Spear": the big event or the big speaker you see never got there alone. There are hundreds, maybe thousands of people who supported, built, promoted, actualized to make that one big event happen.

2) There are many many jobs and roles in social and political activism. Everyone can bring something useful to the table, and there is work that we all can do that helps.

3) There are already organizations that exist. Check for those around you before reinventing the wheel. Learn from them so you can find your fit or, if needed, apply those lessons to starting something new if there is a niche that needs an organization.
