Welcome to the first trans feminist comics about transgender people living in Siberia.

The first issue of the Trans*Siberia comics series describes the story of a transgender man, who decides to accept his gender identity, and explores the new world of being transgender in Siberia.

The main character and the plot are based on true stories told by transgender people to describe the current situation of the trans community in Siberia.

Siberian Federal district marks one of the highest trans- and homophobia levels in Russia. Transgender people are silenced to speak out loud due to Russian discrimination laws about problems they have to face on everyday basis.A person who lives in Siberia and does not fit in the conservative gender norms is condemned to constant struggle in every aspect of their life.Trans community faces transphobia in public places, in educational, health and service institutes, most often it takes forms of assaults, usage of the wrong gender pronouns, hate speech and threats.Trans awareness is extremely low in Siberian region because trans people tend to stay closeted about their gender identity.
