Super stoked on this 70s model Ludwig SupraPhonic I just restored. A must have for every studio, and we finally got one. Can’t quite place the exact model year, but I believe it’s 77-78. First launched by Ludwig in 1958, the “Super Ludwig” became “SupraPhonic” in 1963 and has been produced since. All original parts except for the bottom rim which I replaced due to a very small crack. This thing is loud and has that awesome vintage metal drum sound and a really nice crack on rim shots. First time playing a new snare in a while, this one has potential to replace the Tama SLP bubinga that I’ve been using since the start of the Rip Currents sessions.
