There weren't many things that Ysayle could call her own even in the modern day, having lost much of it in the Calamity and in her own recent folly. Loaned this and that as she tries to get back on her feet - quite literally, this time - the only thing she could really call hers was her first staff…wherever that went. It had a bloodied history that hurt to recall it - both in its nature and the lengths it took to get it - but now she's stuck with naught. She must find a way to build herself back up, and to that she must accept this aid that she feels she does not deserve in whatever form it comes in: be it rough handling so she might walk again, or clothing with far too much care put into it for someone such as her.

And all the while, Melisande remains colder than Ysayle's own persona - a bitter bastard to the very end.

Fix it fic/Ysayle Lives AU that's part of my Snow and Dirty Rain au. Timeline goes over the end of 3.0 to 4.0, and is predominantly in Ysayle's POV (chapter 1 is Melisande's POV, chapter 2 is how things will go). If it wasn't bad enough that Surkukteni had not been allowed the time and space to grieve, her dreams became quickly plagued for a love she'd lost years ago. There's a strange sentience to this Ysayle that haunts her dreams, but was that really important? If she could seek some sense of closure for her broken heart, she'd take it even if it meant reopening that wound every night.

Set in Shadowbringers and ending in 5.3, this is Ysayle's reentry into MSQ. Chapters 2 and 4 are spicy, emotional support Ardbert through half of it, and a sequel planned very soon. I can confirm that this fic made someone cry, so have fun <3

Surkukteni is asked to deal with something attacking and killing patrols out near Snowcloak. Frustrated that she can't seem to get a break regarding reminders of Ysayle's death, she goes in to get this job done quickly-

Yeah I'm fucking bawling. These are accurate af even if it's not 100%. Ysayle was fucking hooked from the moment they met and fought in Akh Afah, especially taking interest because she knew Surkie to be someone she could potentially sway to her side of things. But also you get the soulmate shit between them and AGH.

Despite being known for being a deathly powerful mage as Lady Iceheart, Ysayle's aptitude for magic was sorely lacking prior to the Calamity. She'd struggled a great deal to master it, and in a frustrating relapse she was back at the start with no magical capabilities so to speak. Beyond her magic being slow to return, and the dreadful state of her atrophied body, Ysayle still is not convinced this isn't Hell. But regardless of if it is or isn't, she must do something — anything! — to get her strength back so she might relieve the one she dearly loves and sorely misses of the belief that Ysayle had died at Azys Lla. It's a task most pressing, as it's a vicious grief that would see Ysayle's love consumed and destroyed.
