“A job, huh...” The sellum was currently mostly spherical, bouncing up and down on the spot.
It was a good way to think.
“I usually did contract work though, or made money from mining. I don’t know how appropriate that is here.”

“Ooh! You look so adorable! Are you also a robot?” She of course was reminded of her one classmate, that had the title “Ultimate Robot”. He is a robot, but still looked and behaved like a human. Even if he wasn’t out of flesh and blood, he was her friend...
Oops! That reminded her, he most likely would have called that approach robophobic, too... “S-sorry, I didn’t mean to suddenly approach you like that. What’s your name? I’m Kaede Akamatsu!”
Though the mall in Golden Ward drew her attention at first, the hustle and bustle of such a lively place hardly suited her, especially not at a time like this. On a pleasantly chilly mid-afternoon like this, Margaret sought a much quieter, more humble sort of place to dine at. Her answer came in the form of a cafe near the marina- during weather like this, beach activity was much less frequent, so crowds were sparse, and only a few customers were found in the cozy little establishment.
She knew what sort of tea she wanted, of course, but the matter of what would be joining it was more difficult to discern. The choices were much more abundant than those she’d had access to at home, and she had no measure for how the quality was around here anyway. Perhaps there would be others around here that did, though! The figure she approached- a floaty, pink-haired being- likely wasn’t from around here, but hopefully she could speak from experience around here.
“Excuse me,” the young woman spoke up, wearing a kind smile for the other. “I haven’t come around to this cafe before- would you happen to have any dessert recommendations, especially anything that might pair nicely with some black tea?”

“Hmm...okay, so these screen things work kinda like that phone they gave me, I guess...how am I supposed to make this danged cookie look the way I want, though?!” Eda grumbled underneath her breath, leaning into one of the Build-a-Gingerbread-Man stations with a look of irritation stretched across her face. The screen she was on seemed to be focused on customizing the shape of her cookie, but every time she dragged her finger across the monitor, it just pulled out this dotted outline of a circle and combined it with the basic human-looking shape it gave as a template. That she currently had the “circle select” tool chosen rather than a more free-drawing tool eluded her.
“And I paid to do this?! No scam bigger than modern tech, I should’ve known...if Luz were here she could probably figure it out...” Without her clever, excitable apprentice nearby, the Owl Lady could only seek help from a fellow citizen of the city. “Uh, hey, ‘scuse me!” she called out, taking a quick couple steps over to a rather small, rather pink and shiny person(?). “You look like you’re all about cookies and technology- think you can help me figure this thing out? I’m trying to get it to the shape I want, but it doesn’t seem like it wants to let me do that.”

There was no time to rest as Rock Volnutt continued blazing a trail across Spirale, taking out every mob of reaverbots he came across in the process of rampaging through town. Now that his skates were back, he could get around as quickly as he could with any car, and without the worry of excess to boot. That was good -- in the midst of this chaos, nothing less would do.
Rounding a corner in the Golden Ward, he caught sight of something at the end of the block: a small feminine figure, features concealed by a curtain of pink hair, busied with some kind of contraption--
--seemingly unaware of the long-bodied machine flailing its winglike limbs coming at her in a frightful stampede.
“Watch out!”
A sound of pressurized air discharging was audible as Rock took a flying leap from blazing in on jet skates at full-throttle. Throwing both legs out, he crashed into the Juraid in a flying dropkick at sixty miles per hour, throwing the long-bodied machine entirely off its equilibrium and subsequently toppling over to the ground, skidding away for some yards as the Digger spun out in his own landing. As the tires mounted on his heels squealed him to a halt, he took aim with his buster, letting loose a hailstorm of energy bullets.
Between the heavy battering and the gunfire assault, the reaverbot could do little other than flail helplessly as it broke apart in a series of explosions, several small energy cells and scraps being the only remaining trace.
“That was too close...” Wiping his brow with his forearm, Rock turned towards the stranger, face etched with concern. “Are you--?”
He stopped short upon seeing the tiny woman’s rather unique and unexpected facial features.
“...Um-- Are you...alright...?”

He’s not really sure how he got into this topic of conversation in the midst of trying to buy a tea from this cafe. He’s seen a lot of people wander in here, and after a couple days he decided he may as well try it out, too. He was never really one for cafes or any public setting for that matter. But as it stands, it’s just him and the lady behind the counter holding his tea and now he gets the feeling he won’t get it unless he can justify himself.
“I am the Ultimate Lifeform. Even if I don’t look like it, I guess. What, are you mad I made you write that on the cup?“

Emi had finally made it to her apartment, which meant that now it was time to memorize the surrounding areas to ensure that she didn’t end up lost. So after a quick break to gather her thoughts, she decided it was time to go.
As she left her apartment to head back downstairs, something pink caught her eye in the halls -- someone looking for their room, maybe? A grin spread across her face, and the child ran over to the other girl.
“Hi!! You’re so pretty!! Hey, will you go exploring with me? Please?”
