Susquehanna to the Chesapeake

The Susquehanna river winds down to the distant Chesapeake from just south of Harrisburg, PA.

To perceive depth, cross eyes and superpose left image seen with right eye over right image seen with left eye.

A brand new compilation CD published by the Spectral Affect imprint features one of my previously unreleased tracks, Ola y onda.wav (signal). Copies are now available at Nexus Records in Brooklyn or by mail order if you contact [email protected]. I will have a few copies on hand also.

The track Ola y onda.wav (signal) is part of a collection of hydrophone recordings I made, called AURA, in North America’s first waterways to be poisoned by toxic industrial runoff. Sourced in the Blackstone Valley and Atlantic coast, the Susquehanna, Chemung, Connecticut, and East Rivers among other kills and creeks—these waterways were exploited to power the country's first industrial mills and birth the telecommunications industry. I’ve now mined them to witness them, seek communion, and listen to their voices. Ghosts of shipyards, payphone phreaks, data streams, and feral signals linger in the currents, whispering what was and what still remains. The hydrophone recordings were made during every season between 2020-2022.

Note that the Guilford "G" has been removed from 389, marking the date of this photo as post-Delaware & Hudson separation from Guilford.
