I think Suzunagi is inspired by Tamamo, one of the Great yokai of Japan like Shuten and Arago.

Last day of RW/YST week and Suzunagi seemed a fitting end… I like to think she occasionally turns up as a guide to people who inherit her armor. She’s much more straightforward with her bearers than Kaos was (not that that’s hard…) and operates on a firm ‘you’re allowed to turn it down and you’re allowed to decide it’s too much’ policy - that is, it’s your destiny only if and as long as you want it to be.
