can i request an imagine with mingyu and the reader r going to the theme park but girls r always flirting wiht him so it gets ruin lol ty :)
thank you so much for requesting! I had a lot of fun with this one!
You had spent all morning getting ready for this. You had waited weeks for this day, and had never stopped talking about it to your friends. Honestly they were just as excited as you that this day had finally come, because it meant you would finally stop talking about it. You finally got to go on a date with the love of your life, Mingyu. Mingyu was just as excited as you, but he was excited because the destination was a theme park, while you were simply excited because it was a full day with Mingyu.
You were just finishing up getting ready when knock sounded on the door. You raced to the front door and answered it. As you had expected, a grinning Mingyu stood in front of you, looking absolutely beautiful (as usual).
“You ready?” he asked, taking a step into your house.
“Yup! I just need to grab my bag.” You answered, closing the door. You ran into the other room and grabbed the few things you needed, hastily shoving them into your cute backpack, then walked back over to Mingyu and slipped on your shoes.
“You look nice today.” Mingyu stated absent mindedly.
“So do you…” you said back, trying not to explode with excitement that he had just complimented you. It’s not like he didn’t do that often, on the contrary, he did it quite a lot, but every time he did compliment you, you felt as if all the butterflies in the world had decided it was a great idea to collect in your poor stomach.
“We should probably go if we want to catch the bus.” You declared, opening your front door, steering Mingyu out so that you could close and lock it up. Once you had done that, you and Mingyu walked side by side on in the hot summer weather towards the bus stop. Whether it was because it was early in the morning, or the peaceful atmosphere, neither of you felt the need to talk. You walked past the lush green grass with the colorful flowers that grew up in various places. There were plenty of sounds, the birds chirping happily in the warm sun, the planes that flew in the sky above you, the sound of the leaves rustled by the wind, even the sound of passing cars in the near distance. Having Mingyu by your side, combined with everything else made you unbelievably content. You almost wanted to just keep walking around the city like this rather than head towards the crowded theme park. But eventually, the two of you reached the bus stop, and took a seat, waiting only a few minutes for the bus.
The cold air conditioning from the bus made your skin tingle after being out in the heat for so long. Mingyu followed you to the back of the long bus, and naturally took the seat next to you. You sat down next to the window and pulled off your backpack, setting it on the ground in front of you. Mingyu leaned over you and looked out the window as the bus began to move.
“The height from the bus makes everything look so different.” Mingyu stated as he continued to lean over you.
“Yes, i suppose it does.” you answered, a soft smile starting to show on your face.
The ride to the theme park went by quickly. Only a few people got on the bus after the two of you arrived, making the drive quite peaceful. You and Mingyu continued to chat until you finally arrived, and both of you got off in an excited hurry.
“This is going to be so much fun!” you exclaimed as you and Mingyu walked towards the front gates of the theme park.
“It is! Let’s go on one of the really big rides first!” Mingyu said, pointing up to one of the rides that could be seen reaching into the sky from where you stood.
“Okay!” you declared. Even if the ride was a bit big, at least you would have Mingyu by your side the whole time.
The two of you waited in the short line to pay your admission fees, and where soon wondering around the park, looking at the various attractions before finally located the ride Mingyu had pointing out when you first arrived. You stomach dropped a bit when you got closer to the ride. With each step the ride seemed to grow taller and taller. Maybe you shouldn’t have agreed to do this ride. You were about to tell Mingyu that you might sit this one out and let him go by himself, but he just looked so excited that you couldn’t help but keep going through the long, snaking line leading to the ride.
When you finally sat down in the seat next to mingyu and buckled yourself in, and the workers walked around and checked to make sure each passenger was properly secured, you regretted the moment with every fiber of your body.
“Mingyu…This was a terrible idea.” you stated, moving your head so that you could see the boy better.
“I said–” but before you could finish, the ride blasted off, starting the long, and definitely the most terrifying part of the ride, decent up into the sky. The only thing you could do was reach out and grab Mingyu’s hand. He didn’t object, you weren’t sure if it was because he could tell how scared you were, or if he himself was nervous, but either way you had no intention of letting go. You tightly shut your eyes as the ride came to the slow stop at the very top, ever so slowly inching forward before the terrible long drop. Finally, after what felt like minutes of sheer anxiety and terror, the ride dropped down, and the rest was a blur. All you remembered was hearing Mingyu’s loud screaming and laughing a bit at him towards the end. When the ride was finally over, you realized you had yet to let go of his hand. You laughed awkwardly as you let go and stepped out of the cart, your legs shaky and weak from the thrilling ride.
“That was fun!” Mingyu practically yelled as you excited the ride.
“If you say so…” you muttered, still hobbling along on your weak legs.
“Let’s go on that one!” Mingyu exclaimed, pointing to a ride across the street that was only a bit smaller than the last one.
“You go on that one first. I’m going to sit this one out. If it’s really fun i’ll go on it with you.” you declared, seeking out a bench not far from the entrance of the ride.
“Are you sure?” he asked as you sat down.
“Positive.” you answered with a smile.
“Alright then, i’ll be back soon!” and with that he sped off into the line. What a puppy you thought, laughing to yourself as you watched him disappear behind a corner.
You didn’t have to wait to long for him to come back, which surprised you. He was walking towards you, looking very wind blown, his hair pushed back, revealing his forehead… you kinda liked the way it looked…but hold on one second. Who the heck is he talking too? Two or three girls were gathered around him, you weren’t sure how many exactly, but either way they didn’t belong by his side. You did.
You rushed over to Mingyu and stood in front of him, waiting for him to realize you were standing there. But he didn’t, he was too busy talking with the plastic looking girls that surrounded him. To be fair, the girls were doing most of the talking, but either way he should have been looking for you, you had been waiting for him after all. Finally there was a pause in the questions the girls were firing at Mingyu, and you used this as your moment.
“Mingyu!” you called out, causing his head to jerk up. He smiled his huge smile when he saw you, and it almost melted all the anger that filled you…almost.
“Who are you?” one of the girls questioned, placing her hand on her hip.
“Oh, this is my friend (y/n)!” Mingyu exclaimed. Friend? Oh, but you and Mingyu were more than just friends.
“Nice…” the other girl said, sounding very unimpressed as she looked you up and down.
“So how was the ride gyu?” you questioned, walking over to his side, through the pack of plastic girls.
“It was super fun! You should have come with me!” Mingyu exclaimed, seemingly unaware of your agitated mood.
“Let’s go somewhere else…” you mumbled just loud enough so that only Mingyu would hear you. He nodded, maybe finally catching on to the situation. You thought you would be able to lose the girls, but the managed to follow mingyu and you the whole time.
“Gyu, i can’t take you anywhere, you’re just too pretty.” you pouted as the two of you stood in line for another ride, the group of plastics not far behind you. Mingyu chuckled at this, but didn’t say anything. Your day was totally ruined. The girls followed you two everywhere, flirting with every chance they got. Naturally since Mingyu is too kind, and honestly too clueless as to what was going on, he didn’t try to stop it, leaving you, his significant other, feeling very uncomfortable and upset. They followed you to lunch, and to every ride and attraction you went too. You were worried they would try to follow you home, but you two somehow managed to escape just long enough to slip out of the park and to the bus stop.
As the two of you bordered the bus, the sun already set and the sky slowly getting dark with each minute, you turned towards Mingyu and looked him in the eye.
“Next time, I pick where we go on a date. And it’s going to be at home. Where no one can try to take you from me.”
