Mondo exclusive poster ‘True Enemy’ by Rory Kurtz [x]
What’s wrong with it? I think it looks fine, lmao 🤷🏻♀️ idk anything about design though
lol i’m banking on it not being the final version of the poster, or even a real poster tbh because the composition is an absolute mess.
Good design draws your eye specifically to certain areas of the poster in an order, by using lines to sort of direct the eye, and in this poster we have 5 different lines, two being parallel, and two being perpendicular, which visually creates a very confusing pathway for the eye to follow -- do we focus on what’s in the middle between the parallel lines? Do we focus on the meeting of the vertical and horizontal line?
The placement of the characters is bizarrely awkward too, we have Rey, Kylo, and a mysterious red storm trooper all on the same vertical -- the direct middle of the poster which is supposed to be reserved for the most important characters or rather, the most important part of the poster itself. Why place this red storm trooper there, and not Finn, who instead is awkwardly cutting off Rey’s arm with the top of his head, as he stands next to yet another mysterious alien creature?
The placement also confuses the eye because there are so many overlapping things happening at once, it becomes hard to decipher just what’s going on. It took me a couple seconds to figure out that 3PO is holding Chewie’s bowcaster (which doesn’t make sense because Chewie is there on the other side), because it’s in front of Finn and the shape gets lost in Finn’s jacket. Same thing with Finn’s blaster, I thought for a second the alien was holding it and not him.
Also the eyelines don’t make any sense -- the only two people looking directly forward are Rey and the mysterious red trooper, everyone else is looking slightly off center or obviously in a direction off-poster but not in a way that suggests purpose as it might have if everyone on either side were looking in the same direction cohesively.
It’s not just not very visually comfortable to look at, this poster doesn’t feel designed as much as it does crammed.
the new poster is beautiful , but can we talk about this?
she’s obviouysly falling , why would would this scene be on the poster?? its must be some trigger point in the movie right?? they wouldnt pick up some random scene just because its "sounds nice". They have professionals there, every piece of this poster has a purpose..
At first, my reylo radar was this scream "CLIFF SCENE" after talking with some folks , most think its luke training her, after all she has her staff here, what would make sense after all, she has it in the beggining of the movie, we saw it at the trailer.
So my heart tells REYLO SCENE, but my brain tells me "Its not gonna go the way you think"
yet he wad also seen a Luke cliff scene in the japanese trailer, but here luke doesnt sound too eager to help her with the training
and wwe know that at some point she will fall on the water or jump it
Buuuut i will bet on the Reylo scene because this :
Can you see our sweetheart kylo at the background? of what seems... a cliff? also notice that in the doll version he has the cape.both Luke and Kylo have capes in this movie.
it can be luke? YES possibily, but Kylo isnt a better option? (FOR ME of course). either way be Kylo or be Luke, we are having some deep shit after this scene, so cant wait until there im just breathing.
UPDATE
the pose is very weird ,but here it looks much more with Luke with the details,or Kylo is so tired that he gets a older look , or Luke is just tired of this bullshit and gonna push Rey of the cliff. *GET OUT GIRL IM RETIRED*
but i still think that they are keeping a Reylo cliff scene, it doesnt make sense to put them official merch.
ALSO i think if it wasnt for the staffs and the possibly light saber (not sure it looks a stick here XD) i would say that the person looks like Kylo in the offering hand scene, but for now im go that this scene in specific must be Luke, Im stil intrigued by the scene by the way. My breath did just get a little fast now
Little fix on this middle night glue work I made it for fun but something in curves, lines and coordination charmed me. Somehow it turns to be symbolic more than expected
