just finished my biannual reread of steady wit and ceaseless plans & i need you to know it has occupied a minimum of 4% of my brain at all times since my first read through in 2020. truely my favourite fic of all time

anon 😭😭😭😭😭 this means so much to me 😭😭😭😭 i’m sure i’ve admitted this before and it also kiiiiind of goes without saying bc it was Such A Behavior, but i was really struggling when i wrote swacp and it was really honestly load-bearing for a bit, and for the work that it did, it is so so meaningful to me. even if no one had cared about it at all, it would have been meaningful to me. but the fact that people engaged with this extremely long extremely WEIRD concept and found joy in it and shared and continue to share that joy with me is just so unbelievable. like that’s what writing is FOR it’s for sharing with people and it makes me so genuinely emotional that swacp had staying power for anyone. sorry to be corny but i’m tearing up as i respond to this

i really cannot express how frustrating it is to me that i cant write a declan meets the cullens fic bc its sooooo good its sooooo good

my thing is like. after i made those posts about declan last night i reread part of swacp and i actually feel like i am the version of myself who could finally finish my “declan meets the cullens fic” but also i know, i know that when my ancestors look down on me to see me producing a sympathetic portrayal of a confederate soldier written by a racist mormon they set about slowly weakening my joints and making my bones more porous

swacp edward is really insistent about the cullens literally being a nuclear family in a way that isnt really supported by the twilight canon and there are a lot of reasons for that including: he is apart from them and is both idealizing and simplifying the relationship and: i forgot things about twilight, probably. but also: well he can’t possibly be sexually attracted to them then, can he?

the thing about declan and edward is they are constantly innovating new ways to not have sex
