naboo handmaidens
yané (born suyan higin) served as a handmaiden and liaison for queen amidala of naboo. as a weaver and seamstress, she worked with other handmaidens on improving the queen’s costumes. she also composed a full medical history of queen amidala. during the battle of naboo, yané stayed behind to work with the resistance against the occupation. she used her bedframe to weave codes to be sent around the camp.
following amidala’s final term as queen, yané worked with naboo orphans, beginning with fostering a pair of twins. she and saché, a fellow handmaiden and yané’s romantic partner, began living together.
