Palettlers get to be babies in my headcanon, but Addisons (headcanon species name pending) don’t (yet, at least)
Massive walls of text info on my headcanons below lmao
Palettlers hatch pale grey and covered in soft, fluffy down. Their beaks are pale pink, distinguishable from their white faces. Similarly, the scaled parts of their legs are lighter, and are distinguishable from their feathered thighs. Both the pale pink beaks, nails, and their pale scaly legs fade to match the color of their feathers as they age, and said feathers darken and molt into stronger, more mature feathers. They grow into lean, broad figures, built for heavy lifting and labor, which is what most Darkners hire them for. They are also built this way for carrying out the wishes of Lightners. The Swatchlings, however, are fitter than most, which is mainly for aesthetic (Queen has priorities) as they work in high places. Palettlers like Wren and Swatch, who are shorter and thinner than average, are called Runts, and usually have harder times finding jobs. Swatch and their Swatchlings are admired for this reason (among many others), working for the Queen and simultaneously having a Runt as their leader. Palettler eyes show their primary, unchanged color, which they are named after (provided their siblings/parents name them after colors and not other Palettler name categories).
Addison babies, although not (yet?) existing in my headcanon, would generate with lots of fluff, long noses acting as a top lip, or soft beak. They give off light, like living glowsticks. Like adult Addisons, their eyes do not open unless experiencing extreme negative sensations (emotional or otherwise). They have temporary tails that help them balance and appear slightly more threatening if necessary. These tails are eventually absorbed into the body as they age, used for protein and calcium as Addisons mature very quickly and require constant nutrients and protein intake.

Palettlers are reproduced asexually, hatched from eggs that are generated through code. The only “incubation” process is the code being processed and generation of the physical egg and hatchling inside. Palettler Leaders (eldest siblings) are generated genetically, with parents (who leave their broods temporarily to raise a child) entering pieces of their own code into the mix. Once the Palettler has hatched, they are cared for for several years, learning how to survive and care for siblings. After that, the parents leave, leaving the house and future share-house to their eldest child, who instinctually generates a brood over several years (egg generation takes 2-3 months per egg, and hatching takes about a week to start) until the instinct to do so fades. The Leader of the brood acts as the highest in charge and main caregiver, though every sibling cares for and raises each other. Palettler broods take on the name of the Leader and “-ling(s)” at the end, signifying rank (i.e. Swatch and their Swatchlings). This acts as a Surname of sorts. Broods are very close and rarely part for extended periods of time. Singles are Palettlers who have no brood, and are extremely uncommon (Singles are basically Palettler orphans).
Addisons (species name pending) are generated in a similar way, though not as children and not by Cyberworld Darkners. Their code is generated automatically by their own Dark World, Cyberworld. They appear in Addison Alley, instinct telling them their name, their range of products, and who they are in general. As they appear already fully matured, they have no parents, and no siblings (unless adoptive).

Wren awoke with a start to the sound of their alarm, pressing the button that silenced it shortly after. They sat up with a yawn, then stood for a stretch. They halfheartedly made their bed (as per usual) and tucked their plush in, laying against the pillow and covering it's lower half with the blanket. They gave it a couple pats on the head, a fond look, and left it for the day.
Upon leaving their room, they were met with a long, wide main hall, bustling with Swatchlings. They weaved through the traffic of the morning to enter one of the shared bathrooms, taking their place in front of a sink at the long, white counter.
'Morning, Wren. Rest well?' The Swatchling to their right chattered, briefly blinking at them in acknowledgement, before returning to preening her chest feathers.
"As well as always, Carmine. You?" Wren answered, looking around their spot for one of the spray bottles before the Swatchling on their left handed one to them, to which they gave a quick 'thank you'.
'Much the same.' Carmine replied, helping the feathers on her head flatten again with a talon.
After spritzing their head and neck down with the water/conditioner mixture, Wren began fussing over their own chest feathers. They felt a small tug and quickly looked to their left, raising an eyebrow as the Swatchling holding their feather gave them an apologetic smile.
'Sorry, it was coming out and I didn't want it to bother you.' He shrugged, before straightening it a bit with a talon and setting it into a trash bin in a cupboard below the counter.
"It's cool, Indi. Just warn me next time, eh?" They gave a playful grin, and Indi smiled back, relieved at Wren's good mood, before heading off to breakfast. Once Wren was all tidy, they did the same.
The kitchen was larger than any sensible kitchen should be, but this was a Palettler share-house, so anything smaller would’ve been like trying to fit a bunch of basketballs into a tube for tennis balls. Wren dismissed the thought, briefly acknowledging how terrible they were at comparisons before snatching a plate from the neatly balanced stack and sitting at the stupidly large round breakfast table with the other currently-seated Swatchlings.
‘So I said, “Yes, sir, we are able to fade into and out of colors that vary from our names,” and—no disrespect, of course—is that quite so difficult to understand?’ A Swatchling across the table and to the right of Wren, Sinoper, ranted, gesturing with their talons as they clicked their beak, tailfeathers slightly fanned.
‘Oh, no, I get you.’ Another Swatchling to the left, Brazilwood, piped up, ‘I get asked the same thing quite often when I’m blue, usually by Endorsemanagers.’ There was a rumble of agreement around the table as Brazilwood finished, resting their beak on one talon.
“Oh, you think you all have name problems?” Wren challenged with a snort and a click of their beak, then their tongue. Scattered chattering laughter followed, and they took a sip of their orange juice with a playful grin.
‘Ah, don’t worry, Tuft,’ They were quick to swallow and put down their glass as the Swatchling on their right, Zaffre, yoinked Wren close, giving them a gentle noogie, ‘we’ll take care of anyone givin’ ya trouble.’
Wren knew their siblings would really just stand menacingly behind them; their muscular bodies were mostly for aesthetic and health, none of the Swatchlings were serious fighters. Sure, casual sibling roughhousing was a fun pastime, but it was all fun and games. Nevertheless, they tried to hide their appreciative smile as they struggled to reorganize their feathers, feigning annoyance (badly).
‘Hold still—’ Wren was abruptly leaned a bit to the left by a large talon on their shoulder, and felt a light scratching on their head as the Swatchling next to them helped preen their feathers back into shape.
‘There you are, dear.’ The Swatchling smiled kindly once she was finished, releasing Wren’s shoulder.
“Thanks, Mara.” They gave a nod in thanks before leaning back and looking up as the hot food was finally ready and brought to the table.

Once breakfast was finished and the table was cleared, most of the brood went back to their rooms to get dressed, Wren included.
They stripped down, tossing their dirty sleep shirt and shorts into their mini-washing machine, and went to grab their uniform from their closet after starting it up.
Slipping into their work clothes, Wren styled themself in front of a thin full-body mirror in the corner, shaking out their tail into a more professional fan of feathers, admiring them in the mirror before folding them back up. They grabbed their empty work duffel-bag, crouching in front of the closet and grabbing quite a few water bottles and assorted healthy non-perishable snacks and shoving them in the bag, along with some t-shirts and shorts that were many sizes too large for Wren themself.
Zipping it up and nodding in triumph, Wren stood, slinging the bag over their shoulder and leaving their room, turning off the lights and closing the door behind them. They met with the rest of the Swatchlings, all gathered by the front door, ready to head out.
And so they did, off to work, Wren flicking off the last light and locking the front door.

All the Swatchlings have color names btw; Indi is Indicolite and Mara is Amaranth.
Also Endorsemanagers is what I’m calling the Addisons species from now on lol It’s a mix of Endorsements and Managers. It was almost Infolk (Info + Folk) and Infomercitizens (Infomercials + Citizens) but I think Endorsemanagers works best ngl
(Please tell me if there’s anything I need to fix)
