When you first awakened as a Darkner, you didn’t carry a blade or a gun. You were born with a shield. Your soul originated from something quiet and almost invisible. the glass case that kept Flowery safe. The clear walls that separated delicate petals from careless hands became polished crystal armor in the dark world. Stained glass wrapped around your body like living plates of metal, every surface catching the light in brilliant colors.

Meeting Flowery had felt l. By then, strange worlds and even stranger people had become almost ordinary parts of life. Every new adventure introduced another colorful individual with their own peculiar quirks. Yet, Flowery managed to catch you completely off guard. His voice carried tiny, echoing flourishes that accompanied every sentence he spoke. The little sounds distracted you enough that you nearly flubbed your own introduction, forcing yourself to bite your lip to keep from gaping too broadly. He took your hand so naturally that your thoughts completely derailed. You found yourself staring at your joined hands for far longer than was reasonable while he continued talking with effortless enthusiasm. Before you could gather yourself enough to decide whether these unfamiliar feelings should concern you, he gave your hand one last affectionate squeeze before announcing he had other matters to attend to, and then he disappeared almost immediately.

You remained rooted exactly where you stood, your cheeks burning and your hand still feeling warm. One thought refused to leave your mind. You wanted to see him again. You wanted to hold him as you did every day in the life before. You wanted him to hold you. That was your dream.

You were simply the Glass Knight. Back in the Light World, your entire existence revolved around protecting Flowery. Nothing about becoming a Darkner changed that. If anything, it only strengthened the instinct until it felt stitched directly into your soul. Unfortunately, Flowery rarely made your job easy. He had an irritating habit of wandering off whenever Asgore appeared. You would turn around for just a moment, only to realize your ward had vanished again, forcing you to sprint across the Flower Kingdom while asking others if they had seen him fluttering about. Nearly every search ended the same way with Flowery happily chatting beside Asgore while you stood several feet away, trying to catch your breath. He always looked faintly surprised that you had followed him again, while you silently straightened your stance and resumed hovering over him as though nothing unusual had happened.

The others thought your unwavering loyalty was admirable. Nobody realized your feelings had long since drifted beyond duty. Whenever Flowery was nearby, you managed to maintain your composure. You stood tall over him, kept an eye out for any inconvenience, and watched his every move with complete professionalism. However, the instant he left, your facade shattered. One innocent question from Ralsei asking whether you liked spending time with Flowery was enough to leave your face glowing brighter than a heat lamp! Your hands became hopelessly fidgety as you insisted your admiration was purely professional, only to immediately contradict yourself by absentmindedly listing every tiny habit of his that you adored. the way he laughed, the way flowers literally bloomed around him and how he constantly bounced from one idea to another without slowing down. By the time you realized how much you had confessed, everyone around you wore knowing smiles. You promptly took off, realizing you had left him unprotected again!

As your relationship deepened, affection developed its own quiet rhythm. You hovered close to him almost constantly, always within reach if he needed anything, but you rarely touched him without reason. Old habits stubbornly lingered within you. Your instincts preferred watching over him rather than touching him. Flowery noticed this. At first, he wondered if he had somehow done something wrong, but the realization that your hesitation had nothing to do with him brought him visible relief.

You loved him enough to keep trying. One afternoon, you suddenly scooped him into your arms without warning. Flowery froze, his eyes widening. For a wonderfully awkward moment, he looked completely bewildered. Then laughter bubbled out of him as he wrapped an arm around your shoulders, settling comfortably against you as if he had always belonged there. From that moment on, carrying him became a common occurrence. Sometimes he would dramatically lift both arms toward you after feigning exhaustion, silently requesting transportation like royalty expecting their carriage. Other times, he would simply lean into your space until you gave him exactly what he wanted. You never refused. Holding him felt natural. He often rested his head against your shoulder while absentmindedly tracing little circles against your armor, perfectly content to let you carry him wherever you wished, as if nothing in the world could bother him while he remained in your embrace. You treasured every second.

Then, everything changed. You stood beside him as the real human reached toward the fountain. Your fingers intertwined, and your head rested on top of his while both of you silently watched as the familiar magic began to close the fountain. It saddened you to think that within minutes, he would once again become an ordinary flower in the Light World, and you would become nothing more than the glass case surrounding him. But you accepted it because, for a while, Flowery had experienced his dreamland, and you were satisfied with that.

Suddenly, the Roaring Knight appeared, and everything unraveled in seconds. Asgore vanished before anyone fully understood what had happened. Flowery reacted instantly without hesitation, without fear, chasing the Roaring Knight. You watched in horrified disbelief as he somehow stood his ground, refusing to retreat. He smiled with the same reckless determination that had both terrified and enchanted you as you struggled to catch up to him, as usual.

Then the sword moved. Your body reacted before your thoughts did. What were you if not his shield? Crystal flashed between steel and flower. The blade struck you instead. Agony exploded across your body as glittering shards scattered through the air like broken stars. Your frame splintered apart where your chest had once been whole. You vaguely heard one of the children scream. Ralsei rushed toward you, desperate magic already gathering around his hands. The Knight fled, taking Asgore with him. Flowery caught you before you hit the ground. He carefully lowered you to stable ground and then knelt beside you, supporting your body with astonishing gentleness despite the panic flooding his expression. His hand found yours, and you squeezed it weakly. Ralsei's healing washed over your body again and again, yet the damage refused to mend completely. Glass is so fragile and so hard to mend.

Flowery leaned forward until his forehead rested against yours, carefully brushing loose shards from your face with reverence. His shoulders trembled as you smiled up at him. You rested your head against his shoulder while his thumb continued to trace slow circles across your palm, unwilling to let go even for an instant. Kris, Susie, and Ralsei eventually returned. Ralsei quietly explained what needed to happen. The fountain had to be sealed. You barely listened. You were too busy memorizing the feeling of Flowery's hands, the warmth surrounding you, and the gentle way he continued to stroke you as if convincing himself you still held strong.

When the fountain finally closed, you felt your body falling apart. Crystal became transparent once more. Armor transformed back into glass, and your limbs stilled into familiar rigidness. When the light returned, only a cracked glass case remained and inside rested a single flower, its petals brushing gently against the fractured glass.

You had gotten your dream.

It had been hours since Kris had disappeared from the classroom with Susie, with the two of them being grouped up for the projects. With her reputation, you had grown increasingly concerned for your friend.

You finally found them after school, wandering around town with her. It was a relief to see them okay, but you wanted to make sure.

Dragging them away from Susie, you started to interrogate them. Where were they? Why were they gone so long? Why were they hanging out with Susie?

Their first response was in defense of Susie, explaining that they were friends. You were a bit confused at first, but accepted it once they asked you to join the two of them.

The other questions were a bit harder to answer... And then they got the idea to just show you why.

After walking around for a bit, they decide to head back to school to... walk into the storage closet? Susie seemed excited about the idea, but why? Is this another prank?

- This is post-canon, where Tenna was fixed up and Spamton is freed.

- The two are very aware of how they’ve been and had been neglecting their daughter and are making the moves to be better for the Pipis.

- She isn’t born yet and the extreme neglect is why. Pipis need to be nurtured to the extreme to hatch properly and she hasn’t been receiving much.

- The two are going to marriage counseling.

- I headcanon that they did get married at one point, but never officially split up. This made them still legally married when they started reconnecting.

- This is where you come in! You work as their babysitter. It took them forever to find someone they really trusted with their daughter, but you were the perfect option.

- They borderline interrogated you. You didn’t get scared off somehow and you were very kind and understanding of their situation.

- They’ve on many occasions come home to you cradling the pipis and talking to her, telling her stories, or humming lullabies. It’s like you really understood that she wasn’t just an egg.

- The two grew very fond of you because of it.

- Tenna became more flirtatious and Spamton’s silly pick up lines became more frequent.

- You left their home flustered every time you worked.

- This turned into you spending the night one time.

- It wasn’t anything weird! You did the normal babysitting and taking care of the pipis, but you’d been up super late the past few nights because of your noisy roommates. You were utterly exhausted.

- you ended up falling asleep next to the Pipis’ nest, curled up on the floor like some sort of protective dog.

- Tenna carried you to their bed and they placed you between them. They knew they were being overzealous and selfish, but they couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have you snoozing away next to them.

- They’d grown so fond of you it was dizzying, so they left themselves indulge.

- You made them better, laugh, learn more about their daughter, so they enjoyed your presence and the sound of your soft breathing that night.

- You woke up snuggled between them, flustered, confused, and like you were on cloud nine.

- Tenna was curled around you and Spamton, Spamton was pressed to your front, and you couldn’t stop your heart from buzzing a million miles an hour.

- You had to go, so you sneakily left the bed without waking the two and scribbled a note for them for when they woke up.

- The two were disappointed when they woke up to you gone, but Spamton noticed the note taped to the side of Tenna’s face.

- You drew a simple heart with a “see you tonight” written on it and the two felt like they were going to explode. You were too cute! Cuteness aggression with these two deadass.

- You came back that night like you said you would, but the two didn’t go off to work. They said they were airing reruns that night and wanted to spend time with you and the Pipis.

- They took you guys out to dinner, somewhere nice but not fancy enough to make you uncomfortable.

- They opened and closed the car door for you, pulled your chair out, made sure to sit so you were between them.

- Oh this was a date. This was a date and they were pampering you and you realized only when you sat down for dinner.

- They were flirty and touchy and you enjoyed every second of it. They also paid for dinner which was nice.

- You put the Pipis to bed when you got back to their place and ended up on their couch drinking and talking.

- That’s how you ended up kissed dumb and sleeping between them again. Tenna kissed like he was scared of hurting you and Spamton kissed like it was the end of the world.

- Tenna gently held your face in one of his huge hands, his other engulfing your hip but barely brushing it. He tilted your head back to kiss you into next week and left you flustered and breathless with that stupid smile on his face.

- Spamton grabbed you by your collar and pulled you in to smash your mouths together, desperate and feverish. He ran his hands wherever he could reach and left you a mess.

- You borrowed some extra pajamas they had (which were Tenna’s and huge on you. You had to roll the waist band and the shoulder of the shirt kept falling off of you) and slept between them again that night.

- So you started dating them! It became a serious relationship early on and they intended on keeping you around permanently.

- You still babysat but the Pipis started feeling like your daughter. You could imagine yourself parenting alongside Tenna and Spamton- you actually really wanted to.

- More and more of your days and nights were spent at their home. Your belongings were left behind and naturally mixed in with their’s. A drawer in their dresser emptied out for your clothes.

- Tenna and Spamton loved seeing you in their clothes too much to ever let you wear your regular pajamas though.

- As long as you’re okay with it, they love touching you. Tenna loves carrying you and Spam around and spam always has a hand around your waist or shoulder.

- Holding hands is a must. Always.

- They ask you to move in a few months in and you’re desperate to get away from your shitty roommates. You eagerly accept!

- They make space for you. It isn’t you sleeping in their bed anymore, it turns into their and your bed.

- Mornings are slow, you stay at home and babysit the Pipis, taking care of her the best you can.

- She hatches in the middle of the night a few months after you move in, waking all three of you up with loud sounds of shell pulling apart.

- You all race to help her and make the hatching as comforting as possible, Spamton pulling out a beautiful baby girl. She was the spitting image of him.

- You got to hold her and cried your eyes out like a baby. She was beautiful and new and she slept in your arms. You vowed silently to always keep her safe and loved.

- You and her were perfect additions to the family, both loved deeply by Spamton and Tenna.

It was difficult to call you a sociable person. You didn't have anything against your classmates, but you didn't communicate with them that much to be called friends. So it went on until one day you accidentally found yourself in the Dark World, where you met Kris and Susie. Their companion, Ralsei, told you where you were and invited you to join them. You didn't mind, and for the first time since you were in the same class, Kris and Susie saw you smiling sincerely. For you, your adventures were like a breath of fresh air. You approached everything with enthusiasm, and in battle you weakened the attacks of your opponents, thus trying to protect your comrades. But there was something that bothered them, but they didn't talk about it. Your appearance. In the Dark World, black veins were visible on half of your body, which looked like a spider web entangling you

They asked you several times if you were okay, but you insisted that everything was fine and that they didn't have to worry about you. You assured them that it was just how your appearance changed when you found yourself in the Dark World. They believed you, and every day you got closer and closer. The three of them got attached to you and you got attached to them. With Kris and Susie, you spent time together in the ordinary world, you walked after school, but sometimes there were days when you had to leave. You claimed that they had nothing to worry about and that you just had to leave for family matters. That's how it went on until you suddenly skipped school. They thought everything was fine. But you were gone for a few days and they were worried. Their anxiety grew stronger when the worried Ralsei did not suggest that the black veins they saw could be a sign that you were sick in the ordinary world

Susie decided to talk to you and took Kris with her. She knew that they were worried about you too, even though they didn't talk about it openly. You didn't reply to their messages, so they went to your house, where your parents, having learned that they were your friends, asked them to visit you in the hospital, saying that you would be glad if your friends would visit you. At the hospital, their fears were confirmed. You were alive when you were lying in the ward, but judging by your pale face, you were unwell. Susie was outraged a lot, trying to hide her anxiety, but you could only smile guiltily and ask them for forgiveness. You told them everything honestly. You told me that you are sick and that there is no way to cure yourself. Medications only remove the symptoms, so most of the time you can live without having to stay in the hospital all the time, but sometimes your condition got worse, like this time. You didn't want to make them worry, so you didn't tell them that you were sick

They came to see you at the hospital every day after school until you finally came out. You could go to the Dark World again and they understood now why these adventures were special to you. You couldn't afford anything like this in your normal life because of your illness, but there you could do whatever you wanted. And now you're back and you can continue your adventures. Ralsei, after learning about what happened, began to worry about you. You convinced him that he shouldn't have worried about you. You assured them that if you felt unwell, you would tell them right away. They became more worried about you and you were pleased with it, but you did not let your illness become the reason why you refused your desires. Dark World gave you the opportunity to feel like a hero and your loved ones were with you, which pleased your heart

They understood that you didn't know how long you still had to live. That's why you tried to get as much out of the rest of your life as possible. Kris, Susie and Ralsei were by your side and shared your adventures with you. Looking at the black veins that seemed to entangle your body more and more every time, they couldn't help but think about your illness, that you would leave them sooner than anyone could have imagined, and therefore they tried not to waste a single moment that you could spend together
