Kaoru places the box on Haru's doorstep, wrapped in green paper with a red ribbon. "Merry Christmas! I hope you get some use out of this, since I really...didn't know what else to get you. Enjoy! ~ Kaoru" (Inside is a gift card to a sweets shop good for at least a few dozen specialty treats)
Haru opened the door to see something onthe ground. It was a gift wrapped in green, and it was wrapped with red ribbon. How festive and cute! Haru found it very cute, but she wasn’t sure who it wasthat would give her a gift like this. She was just a bit suspicious of the giftand so while the gift was still on the ground, she poked at it with her footand quickly moved behind the door.
Peeking out from behind her door again, she poked at the gift box one more time. Looks like the chance of it being somekind of dangerous ‘gift’ was lower than she originally thought. This was a bitof a habit that you started to form after coming into contact with people whowere dangerous. Taking the risky plunge, she picked up the box and inspected itto see that there was a card on the box that said that Kaoru was the one whosent her the gift.
Hmm…? What was that playboy up to now? Ifit was a distasteful gift, she was going to have to kick a shin in. Opening thebox revealed a gift card to a sweets shop that she was very knowledgeable of. Ofcourse, she was! She was a sweets fiend, after all! How wonderful! She’s been wantingto go for a while now and she had a gift card to help spur her into visiting itherself.
Huh? Wait a minute. It wasn’t too oftenthat people in Japan gifted each other gifts unless you were good friends, orif you were dating---. Haru squinted at the card, wondering just how he thoughtof their relationship.
He didn’t think their relationship a bitfurther than friendship, did he? If so…--- he was one of those people, huh? Amasochist? She wouldn’t say that she bullied him, but she did scold him quite abit when he did something that she didn’t approve of. She was very strict withhim at times, so if he liked that--- she worried about him.
Well, that’s another story, wasn’t it?All that mattered was that she was going to appreciate the gift and she wasgoing to put it to good use. He had a good sense for presents, so there was that. His sense for presents was better than his sense for pick up lines.
