I hate how SWERFs will try to recruit in sex-repulsed/apothisexual spaces.

I’ll be trying to vent about the prevalence of porn and sex and erotica and how it sets off my repulsion. And my complex relationship to it that borders on self-harm. And how I wish I could avoid it.

And I get two different people talking to me about how porn is a tool of the patriarchy and how it romanticizes DV and how kink is evil and blah blah blah. Look, just because I’m not interested in watching porn myself because I’m apothi, don’t assume I believe in harassing people who do.

I’m sick of this, man. Let apothis be apothi without shoving your radical feminism (which isn’t radical or feminist) on us.

sometimes i think that people who think porn addiction is real have a spiritual aura to them, like a kind of stink that hangs around. like its so spiritually damaging to constantly exist in a mental space where you think sexy pictures are going to irreparably damage your ethics. these people go through the world thinking of sexiness as if it's a growing hole in their own brain.

i wish they could relax about sexiness but they all end up externalising their weakness and selfdisgust as violence. and i think sometimes you can just tell. like an air of self-inflicted desperation, as if they are constantly cringing away from their own bodymind, reflexively twitching with disgust whenever they encounter actual pleasure and pride in the real world

but really, the way you can tell is that they will do their best to drag you down to their level, every time

Do SWERFs not realise work can be exploitative? Do they think sweatshop workers are having a great time? Do they think people human trafficked into forced labour are doing fine? Do they ignore that in Japan there's a literal word for death by work (Karoshi)?

Have various terfs and swerfs actually tried watching a little bit of porn? Like just an naked pol drawings even. Genuinely I think it'd do yall some good to realize porn doesn't actually have some mystical life destroying properties

just FYI: the sex work community does not recruit; we are not the army, an evangelical religion, or an MLM.  

there is no reward for doing so and we are just as empathetic as any other average community and so are aware of the complexities and nuances of the job so the majority of us would, if approached, give a realistic portrait of our experiences. and the quip I always see about our hyping up teenage girls to do this work is so absurd. there is no disproprortionate number of sexual predators or sexual harassers of minors or young people in the sex work community, so i’m not sure why you’d assume that would be part of our agenda, considering recruiting a teenager would be exactly that, if not trafficking in a more extreme situation. please think. think harder about things. if you have seen a few youtube videos likely sponsored by onlyfans, say you’ve seen a few youtube videos likely sponsored by onlyfans. but don’t invoke the entire fucking community of people doing the oldest type of work in the fucking world (which is now quite varied by the way) and accuse us of literally mass preying on children with no basis but your own paranoia

I’m sorry to mention this? And I don’t want to derail from the importance of the post about Pulse but the user butch/reidentified is an Swerf and radfem who talks about trans women not being oppressed like “real women” (these are stated on a pinned post on their account), and that post is inaccurate in regards to US mass shootings as well. Just FYI :/

Anyway, you can tell many SWERFs and TERFs have never worked in retail or a call center because they believe all sex work is way more demeaning than any kind of non-sex work
