Who is your profile pic? (I'm a new fan. Is that from the comics?)
Hello there new followers [brushes off cobwebs]
The profile picture is of my precious baby girl Anode from Transformers Lost Light!
She is an adventurous femme who is a main part of Transformers Lost Light.
There are many reasons why I like her.
1. I am in love with her adventurous and assertive spirit. She has spunk, and is always looking for a new treasure
2. Her character design. I am in LOVE with her shade of green. It gives me a very warm big sister vibe. Definetely would give you a noogie
3. TRANS REP TRANS REP TRANS REP TRANS REP
5. Also! Also!! SHE HAS A GIRLFRIEND
LOOK AT THEM!!! MY BEANS!!
PUHLEASE I would love to commission some fanart of these two!
Swerve's got another sign
Where to start with Transformers? This property has been going on for so long that it’s spawned 20ish continuities across three countries, but with so many choices, picking a place to begin can be a little overwhelming. The upside is that the shear variety of material means there’s a show or continuity out there for almost everyone.
Like action/superhero cartoons from the 90s/2000s?- Try Transformers Animated.
Want something aesthetically darker? Do you crave drama with more bad guy backstabbing and epic battles? - Start with Transformers Prime.
Are you into meme culture? Do you delight in continuity errors and strange logic leaps - G1 is the show for you
What about being nostalgic for 90s war/hero anime? Like the early Gundam series or the live action sentai shows - silliness and gravitas mashed together in awkward harmony - Check out Transformers Victory
If you are a furry with a open mind about early 90s Cgi animation and love strong characters - Beast Wars is a perfect fit
Are kids shows just not your thing? Is even transformers prime too juvenile for you? Do you like speculative sci-fi comics made for adults with political backstabbing, grey morality, assassinations and intrigue? - Give Robots in Disguise (idw phase 2) a whirl.
Is time a commodity you don’t have much of? Would you like to watch and entire season of an action packed show with good world building in 3 to 4 hours? Then Cyberverse is your place to begin
Do you like comics, but get frustrated with character interaction/development is dumped in favor of the plot? Do you like it when comedy, action/adventure and romance are done well in a series known for explosions and robots punching each other? Do you ever wish that the cast of your favorite sitcom could go on an epic space adventure with actual stakes? Are you a sucker for the found family trope, or when characters in an action story are shown to deeply care about each other? Do you like gallows humor, or the sensation of finding something funny and horrifying/awful/terrifying at the same time (hilarifying). Do you want to discover just how hard you can relate to a vehicle-transforming 20ft tall alien robot when they lose someone very important?. If you said yes to any of these things, go read idw’s More Than Meets The Eye #1 and keep going until you find yourself feeling an emotion for the lovable idiots who populate the series.
And finally. Is 8 years worth of comics in the same universe too intimidating? Do you want a fresh start without having to read with the wiki open so you can figure out what’s going on? Are you into watching a comic universe unfold organically as the issues come out? Lucky for you, the idw universe just rebooted. Join the rest of the fandom at the very beginning with Transformer #1 2019
When you read about something in the internet and your friends know you're new
