swiftshade! what's your relationship with your family like?

"Our dad Batwhisker died when we were apprentices in the same patrol that nearly killed Magpiemask. Juniperhop, our other dad, died in the fire. We're really all we have left for each other, and it's always felt like I've been chasing my brother for one reason or another. I always feel... left behind, somehow."

"I have to carry our dads' legacies on my shoulders, since Magpie sure isn't going to do it. And I have to keep him safe, too, like Batwhisker asked of me. But all I'm known for is being Magpiemask's sister... I'm nothing on my own. Our parents are going to fade into nothing and it's all my fault."

Yes this is from @firealder2005 and I’s Burning Thistles AU once more (I’m also obsessed with it). well, technically this event doesn’t exactly happen as seen in the video (it’s more exaggerated here, also the collar is more symbolic than a real object Frostfur got her paws on)
