I Miss Steve Erwin

Apparently, I don’t get out enough to explore my world anymore and some of my readers feel duty bound to bring that unexplored world to me unsolicited. They must not be employed either.

This morning Lauren decided I don’t know enough about zoology even though I once explored being a marine biologist and oceanographer in my youth.  So she sent me an email asking me all sorts of questions about hagfish.

Hagfish? What the hell is a hagfish you ask? Well, it is this pink, wrinkled three-hearted monstrosity with no eyes that had to have been the inspiration for the worms in the movie Dune:

  The snake-like eel fish kind of looks like a tentacled penis with teeth doesn’t it?

What is worse is that it is slimy--- it secretes thick, sticky slime all along its body and sneezes it out of its nostrils. People like to not only eat it, but use the slime as a cooking ingredient in place of egg whites. I wish I did not know this, just as I wish I did not see that show about the bot fly living in a man's stomach (although it was kinda cute playing peek-a-boo in and out his skin).

I work really hard to forget about some things I know and while it is nice (and disturbingly co-dependent), please do not go out of your way to make my blogging ‘easier’ by ‘helping’ me.  I have many mental issues that are no longer being addressed with regular medication and therapy. Hence, making me sick even if it is only psychosomatic in origin, does not help anyone here--- especially me.

Enough nasty things rain down upon me from the sky like spoiled manna from heaven these days. I do not need this sort of help. If you miss me blogging, just say so and leave it at that.
