It’s National #LearnToSwimDay I want to thank my swim teacher Julia for being so patient and creative in working with me. I’ve come a long way since my first lesson, but have so much more to go. I told Julia on the day we met that my ultimate goal is to one day do the 400IM like #ElizabethBeisel who happens to be the NLTSD ambassador for #swimways I sure don’t pick the easy things. Some may say I’m a glutton for punishment. So far being really stubborn and #competitiveAF has been helping me progress in my goals. 🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️ #NLTSD is commemorated annually on the 3rd Saturday in May to raise awareness about the importance of teaching children how to swim. Drowning remains the second-leading cause of unintended injury related death among children ages 1-14. 🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️ I wish I had learned to swim as a kid because it is SO hard to overcome a lifetime of phobias and it takes such a toll on your body and your mind learning to swim as an adult. That being said, it’s never too late to learn. I will continue bugging @janessagatch in hopes that one day she’ll join me in class and enroll her son in swim lessons as well. 😉 🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️ BTW I finally brought my #Speedo #parka to the pool today because it was gloomy like last week and I totally regretted not having it, but of course, the sun came out and I had no need for the parka 😂 At least my #NathanAdrian shirt had me covered. 🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️🏊♀️🏊♂️ How’s your #Saturday going? Do you know how to swim? What’s your favorite stroke?
