Swing kids

We just finished watching swing kids and like...was anyone going to tell me that this movie was going to crush my heart or was i supposed to find that out on my own?

I knew the movie was bound to have sad parts, its a movie set in a war prison, duh, but my poor heart was not expecting that level of darkness and heart break they threw at me, especially coming from a movie supposedly with fun swing music and contagious dance moves.

This movie straight up went "ohhh you come here to have a good time?? Here you go! But also we added some sadness, bloody deaths, tears, all the ugliness of war with a dash of no one has a happy ending...but we still gave you a pretty cool dance....also fuck you" however i guess i should've expected it, when has a Korean movie ever been what i expected it to be and not leave me a crying heap of sadness on the floor afterwards? Like you name it, it has left me devastated afterwards (except that ONE comedy)

I should have also known better given that everything Do Kyungsoo appears in is always gonna make me cry not just because he is an amazing actor and gets really emotional rolls but because there's already a bias in my heart for him so watching him look sad is enough. That aside though, that man is an amazing actor, everyone that i have talked to about his acting rolls have said that he is great and they don't even think about the fact that he is an idol. My husband who is always so critical of idols kept saying how good D.o is and how cool he looked and how well he danced, just went on and on praising Kyungsoo, you could almost think it was me saying these things.

In this house we love and appreciate Do kyungsoo, not only as an idol but as the talented actor he is.

But anyway idk if the movie is in netflix across the globe but if it is and even if you're not into korean entertainment you should give it a go. They have great american actors too btw.
