Slow Cooker Swiss Steak is a hearty and comforting dish perfect for busy days. The slow cooking process allows the flavors to meld together, resulting in tender beef and flavorful vegetables in a rich tomato-based sauce.
Ingredients: 1.5 lbs beef round steak, thinly sliced. 1 onion, thinly sliced. 1 green bell pepper, sliced. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, undrained. 1 cup beef broth. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce. 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard. 1 teaspoon paprika. Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions: In a slow cooker, layer the sliced onions, green bell peppers, and minced garlic. Place the thinly sliced beef round steak on top of the vegetables. In a bowl, mix together diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour the mixture over the steak and vegetables in the slow cooker. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the meat is tender. Serve the Swiss steak with the vegetables and sauce over rice or mashed potatoes.
