❝Is there anybody out there?❞

Robin wasn’t sure if he had been hearing something when the voice called out. It was mainly due to the fact that he hadn’t expected anyone to appear here and panic set in for just a few seconds. Robin then calmed, reasoning that if someone was here to attack him, they wouldn’t just call out and warn him of their presence. They weren’t calling into the cave either, probably missing the entrance in the dark light and with the trees nearby. Instead they seemed to be calling out in general, perhaps hearing the sounds of animals nearby. It was luck that Robin happened to hear them too.

Robin moved from the wall he had been leaning against, checking the low flames of the fire. The cave had gone pretty deep, enough to keep Robin away from the storm earlier. Now it seemed that the rain was over. He kept a hand near his tome, just in case this person was dangerous and called back once they came into view.

“Yes. Are you in any trouble?”

Even within a canvas painted grey, Ewan could find beauty. The strange weave of the clouds overhead was not the same as that one might witness back home. The skies were always a subject of casual study whenever the youth stumbled into a new land - the difference, though subtle, was ever undeniable.

There was something about the energy of a foreign world, the smell, the taste... Pausing a moment to inhale deeply, Ewan smiled and, with but a moment to readjust his pack, wandered deeper into the woods. He was a bit off the beaten path, he knew, but in his experience adventure seldom came calling from the relative safety of the main roads.

The trees in these woods did not appear akin to the ones he'd fallen asleep next to last night. And speaking of smell and taste, the air here felt... different than it had yesterday. Brow lightly furrowed, it was not wholly surprise that registered across his face but intrigue when he stumbled into the sight line of another. Head swiveling in the stranger's direction at the prompting sound of his voice, Ewan blinked once, twice, thinking on what answer he might give.

"Lost...?" He took a moment longer to consider. "That depends. Am I still in Hoshido?" He had a feeling that was not the case, but it never hurt to confirm. Still, truth be told, Ewan found himself more curious concerning the disposition of the other youth than the details of his current whereabouts. Maybe it was a trick of the light, the all-encompassing grey of today's weather casting a pall over him, but...

"Hey... You all right?" A small, encouraging smile accompanied the well-meaning query.

“Oh, thank you!” Seliph said and took the firework. He’d been busy socializing most of the night, but people all around were playing with them and he was eager to try one. "My name is Seliph! It’s nice to meet you.” He put the firework on the ground like everyone else did, but when it came to setting it off, he was lost. He turned to his companion. “How do you make it explode?”

Hedge mazes are fun, probably, he said. I have a good sense of direction, it’s gonna be fine, he said. Now Chad was regretting every decision leading up to the point where he’d gladly climb up those godsforsaken hedges like a monkey and just scream to the heavens and maybe never stop.

The thief was further contemplating the merits of doing so when he turned a corner and nearly ran into another person- Stumbling back a step or two, he hastily mumbled an apology, before blinking at the other. Maybe he was lost too?

“Hey, d’you know the way out?”

Getting to some of these asks I said I’d do after hiatus! Let’s start!

Gaius considers his best quality -- physical, at least -- to be his eyes or his smile! Not to be vain or anything, but he thinks he’s got a very attractive face overall, and that’s basically all he considers as having going for him so... At least there’s that?

Non physical... Uhhhh..... He can bake... sorta good? (Sorry he doesn’t really consider himself a good person, so this is an actually kind of tough question for him).

Lightning flashed over the sky, lighting up the darkness around them- and in those moments one could almost see the outline of the shadow people who wandered the earth in these thunderous moments.

His eyes had traveled between the outside world behind the windows, and the woman he’d met a few hours ago as she looked slightly troubled by their current situation.

“It’s okay to be afraid,” He uttered into the deafening silence, where they sat waiting for the next roar of thunder. With that he pushed his chair closer to hers in hope it would give her some comfort.

The outrealms were a mystery to him, a frightening mystery with creatures and dangers he had never in his life expected to face. But traveling back and forth as often as he did, it was bound to happen that he went into the wrong gate.

“but we’re going to be fine. I promise”

Sumia had never seen a place like this before. It was terrifying and nothing like her own home or the places she had traveled to. Her experience in crossing the Outrealms aside, she had never managed to find herself in a place that chilled her like this. The thunder had made her flinch at first, but now she was slowly getting used to the strangeness of this world. She was still afraid.

She was not alone though. One of the few positives of this place, she wasn’t by herself to endure this horror. She moved closer to Edward, taking comfort in his presence and in his words. ‘It’s okay to be afraid.’ He didn’t judge her for her fear either. He might be afraid himself too. Perhaps trying to reassure himself as much as he was reassuring her that they’d make it out of here just fine.”

“I trust you.” Sumia looked up at him, doing her best to pull herself together. It wouldn’t help them if she was too frightened to do anything. The first step was to learn where they were. “Do you see anyone.. besides the shadow people.”

Yet another rose. She was becoming quite the popular lady, wasn’t she. Once again, Clair took it with a smile.

Dawn had just crept over the horizon but Genny felt like she’dbeen awake for hours. The little fishing village Celica’s small band had spentthe night in didn’t have much in the way of a marketplace, but supplies weresupplies. Being unfamiliar with how adventures were supposed to be conducted,Genny felt a little like dead weight.

“I’ll be over by the well if anyone needs me,” she calledout after her small cluster of friends before slipping out of the growingmorning bustle and making her way to the low stone wall of the well. With asigh she sat down against the wall, tucking her knees up to her chin for warmthas the cold stone leached her body heat. She had almost drifted off into a napwhen a soft fwump startled herupright. She opened her eyes to find a stranger draping a blanket over her. Hewas young, though probably not as young as Genny, and he had kind eyes as hetucked the blanket around her.

Genny knew she probably shouldn’t trust strangers but shehadn’t slept well in the strange bed last night and it was just so early… shefelt her eyes growing heavy, and she barely managed to whisper “Thank you”before drifting off to sleep.
