the gods have some grace, at least. fiyero finds himself on the nautiloid a second time, but the twisted dream of this place is merciful enough as to put him outside of the pod he was originally trapped in. whether his dream visitor is watching him here, as well, or if it's just his memory adjusting to how things happened, fiyero doesn't care.
what he does care about is finding the other abductees. seofon was with him, the ending of their date interrupted by the purple portal in the sky, snatching the both of them up with a tentacle each. fiyero saw as seofon was teleported, and as he stumbles out of his pod, dizzy with the sudden presence of the tadpole writhing in his brain, he tries to focus on what's important.
holding a hand to his head, he looks around. the room is empty, and it's exactly as he remembers. broken pods of a crashing mindflayer ship surrounding a bowl of tadpoles. the bowl is already shattered, the tadpoles dead— does this mean nobody else got infected yet? he doesn't remember how long he was unconscious, just that he was.
looking around frantically, he looks to the pod that he thinks lae'zel was in, when this originally happened. it's empty. but, circling the room, his eyes catch sight of bright blonde hair, standing out in this air of red and flesh. with a gasp, he runs over, adjusting his sway as he goes.
(it wouldn't do him any good to pass out here— he'll have to look for a regeneration station after he gets seofon out.)
' seofon! ' the man looks a bit dazed, not quite awake yet, but getting there. with both of his palms flat against the glass, fiyero tries to spot any injuries with a barrier between them. a tadpole wouldn't leave behind visible traces, he knows that, and yet he's hopeful that seofon is unharmed, not infected on fiyero's behalf.
looking around the room, he curses under his breath, infernal breathing fire onto his tongue. ' there's no console ... seofon, can you hear me? do you have any way of getting out of there? '
