Victoria, do you fw vision boards? I'm not a visual person (I've tried doing one before and it came out awful, lol) but this year I got the urge to do it... I did some planning so I'd choose the pictures intentionally, instead of just having a bunch of pretty, vaguely aesthetic photos to choose from, so I'm kind of excited for the end result 🙏 I'm anxious about how I'll be able to organize the collage, though, lmao (since I'm not a visual person, like I said, my collage skills are... less than ideal, I'd say) 😮💨
Do you use vision boards? Do you think they're useful? Let's talk, dear moot 🥺 👉👈 This year I'll study to get a vacancy in my dream hospital residency program 🥶
girl i typed up a long reply to this like a week ago, and then as i posted tumblr ate it and depression hit hard so I'm sorry, here's what I could remember 🥺
Ok so short answer: not really.
Long answer: I've always had trouble making collages. I never add enough texture or visual interest and generally overthink it; and I consider myself an "artsy" person. On the other hand, I love looking and analyzing collages. I think mixed-media is cool and expressing goals through a collage cool.
Since I couldn't make collages the way I liked, I decided to make memes instead! (Who says vision boards have to be super serious, right?)
My current favorite one is the one from Simpson (original vs homer's edit vs my edit)
(I'm not actually that money focused, but it's harder to find pictures of "safe and happy patients" and "work-life balance" without making it look like stock images in a dollar store picture-frame. Plus, it makes me smile seeing it as my desktop image.)
I think any meme-blank could work with this method :)
I hope that residency goes well! Idk if vision boards are all too helpful, but maybe it can help you sort out your feelings, hopes, and dreams.
The next two years of my school are going to be equipping me with practical skills for residency.... but honestly I fear what I'm learning in class is very different from out in the field. I almost feel like if I study and practice, I'll be learning it wrong and have to unlearn it, but if I don't learn it then I'll be lost (???) Idk if that makes sense lol
