To be completely honest, Victoria still couldn’t believe that this was happening. That her brother and her pack had lost. That she was really the last of her pack. She couldn’t allow herself to dwell on that for too long, though, not when the bastards who killed her brother were coming closer and closer with every second. She didn’t need to be able to see them, to know that they were coming from her for she’d been able to smell them from miles away. The disgusting mixture of blood and just smelling different was impossible to ignore, after all. Especially if you had nothing better to do than wait anyway. Of course, she could have run away, could have escaped in the hope of finding a new pack that would take her in. But what would that get her? Everywhere she went she’d still be a lower beta at most, a stranger, nobody who belonged - given that somebody would take her in in the first place. Chances were high she’d end up as an omega anyway and that was not about to happen. She wouldn’t go from being somewhat a princess in her own right - being the alpha’s well-beloved sister and all - to a dirty, pack-less omega who everybody abused the way they wanted to. No, she’d rather take her chances with the wolves that killed her family. And in the worst case, she was sure she could take at least one of them with her if they tried to kill her. So when the door opened, she didn’t flinch but instead remained standing calmy, arms crossed before her chest. “Have you come to finish what you started?”, the blonde asked, glaring at what she assumed to be the alpha, words dripping with scorn.
