This week✨ 🎧: Woodstock - Portugal. The Man
Hello, everyone! My name’s Janet, and I run the blog janetstudies. I’m not really new to the blogosphere - I’ve been on Tumblr for about five years now, through various blogs I’ve since left inactive (sadly). This is my first studyblr, however, and I’ve high hopes that I’ll be able to keep it up for the next few years (until I finish college, which won’t be until five years from now).
I’m sixteen and I live in the Philippines. Hobbies include reading, creative writing (though I don’t think I’m as good as others in this field), and webdesign. My favorite TV shows include Scandal, Westworld, and Skam.
I’m in 11th grade or, in the US, a junior. I love Biology, Maths (Calculus, especially), and Philosophy. AP/Honors classes don’t exist in the Philippines as our education system is quite different from the States’, but I’ve had a few unique classes such as Philosophy and Personal Development (psychology).
I decided on making a studyblr in hopes of fostering my dedication to school up, given the fact that I’ve a lot of distractions around me right now and badly need to stay focused and maintain my grades. I also wanted to contribute to the community, since I’ve gotten a lot of help by going through various studyblrs’ resources/posts throughout the past months.
I followback! And you can always talk to me if you want to - I always love meeting new people. If you have any questions/queries, you may direct them here.
Hi there 💜 I’m Astraea (as-traea), this is my first post as a studyblr.I will be sharing tips, motivational things, quotes etc. related to languages and studying.Enjoy! The tags I have used below belong to people that gave me inspiration,so...if you are one of them;thanks a lot! book in the photo: Ustam ve Ben by Elif Safak [turkish]
AP PHYSICS 1: MASTERPOST
General Tips
although the exam has a lot of qualitative questions, still make sure you know how to do the calculations very, very well!
do a lot of practice problems, and practice doing them without using the formula sheet.
time yourself!
Recommended Prep Books/Textbooks
Giancoli Physics: Principles with Applications
my high school physics 1 class used this textbook for practice problems, and I thought they were really helpful. The problems require more calculations and are more difficult than the actual exam, but it familiarizes you with the concepts and makes you more than ready!
APlusPhysics: AP Physics 1 Essentials
this one is good for concept review, and has very clear explanations. the multiple choice practice within each section, however, are on the easy side, and there are no full practice tests.
Sterling Test Prep: AP Physics 1
this is purely for multiple choice speed practice, and to make sure you know your calculations well. the questions, however, are somewhat easier than the actual mc.
Although everyone may be different, I personally do not recommend the Princeton Review (I usually love PR). The problems were simply very different from the actual exam. Since AP Physics 1 is a relatively new test, there really aren’t that many great prep materials out there specifically for Physics 1. The old Physics B materials may help, but I haven’t tried them to prevent confusing myself. ;;
Other Recommended Study Sources
Khan Academy videos
Although they are somewhat slow and a bit easier than the problems my class was doing, KhanAcademy is really useful in clarifying concepts that you don’t quite grasp at first!
Dan Fullerton’s YT channel
aka the author of APlusPhysics! His videos are extremely helpful and present some pretty challenging problems. They really helped me for the electric fields section during class. If you have taken calculus, you may want to watch the Physics C videos- they talk about a lot of the same topics, and just solve using differentiation or integration instead of pure algebra.
Practice Questions
practice multiple choice; answers [pdf]
collegeboard 2016 frq; answers [pdf]
collegeboard 2015 frq; answers [pdf]
a few more multiple choice [pdf]
practice test
albert.io practice questions (physics 1 and 2)
Lastly, make sure you understand every single concept, especially the bigger ones relating to force, momentum, electric fields, and energy! If there’s any problem that you don’t understand the solution to, go back and try to prove it from scratch. It’s only by proving that you can achieve a firm grasp of physics!
If you ever have any questions/need help, feel free to message me! :)

ap chemistry tips!
hello everyone :3: i took the ap chemistry exam last year and here are some tips i thought were helpful for me for getting a 5~~
Content Review
use Princeton Review! - The content review is concise and brief. If you know your stuff already, reading through this should be a breeze, and it reinforces the topics well in your head.
(also if u search #ap chemistry on my blog u will find some semi-aesthetic notes that i took last year hehe)
Practice Problems
free response
collegeboard official released free response q’s - Google search: “ap chemistry 20xx free response scoring guidelines” and read through most of the questions from the past decade (you can even find some from the 1990s and before!)
you don’t have to do all of them, or even most of them, but at least quickly browse the problems (you can usually tell if you know how to do a problem just by reading for a few seconds). then maybe pick a few recent years’ and work through the problems, scoring them yourself using their rubric :)
this helped me a LOT.
multiple choice
2008 multiple choice with answers
2002 full exam with answers
Chemmybear practice tests
VarsityTutors practice tests
lastly, get well rested and don’t stress out too much for the test ^^ good luck everyone :)
ps im open to answering any questions about ap chem !! ;3;
