✅The Highland Park 25 Years old in review today is the pre-2012 discontinued version, it is bottled at 48.1%ABV and 50% of the casks used to make this Single malt whisky are First fill Spanish sherry oak. The new and current version is bottled at 45.7%ABV and is lighter in color which suggests less use of the first fill Spanish sherry oak. ✨Tasting 📝: 🥃 Aroma: Rich, Christmas cake, brown sugar, butter toffee, caramel, honey, sherry (oloroso), milk chocolate, cinnamon, nuts, slight peat in the far background.😀 🥃 Taste / Palate: full, sweet Juicy fruits, toffee, butterscotch, dark chocolate, sherry, oak, leather, gentle peat smoke.👊 🥃 Finish: Very Long with dominant dark fruits and light smoke that add to the complexity.👌 ✨Conclusion: This is a whisky with a bold character not for the newbies, it needs a developed palate to appreciate its complexity. For me, this HP25 deserves a place on my top 10 whisky list.
