Go museum hopping through the history of Seychelles!
Solo Travel and hands-on learning are connected to each other. When in Seychelles, one of the best ways to gather knowledge about the history of the archipelago, is to visit the handful interesting museums. You should know that the museums are not typically what they should be like. For isntance, the Praslin Museum is basically a traditional kitchen that remains in a functional state; one that encourages traveler involvements.
Right at the middle of the capital, Victoria, youĺl find the National Museum of Natural History. Most exhibits here revolve around the evolution of plant and animal life. But, the true highlight of the museum is the friendly attitude of its staffs and their pasion for Seychelles. No matter how small a museum (hardly takes 1 hour to tour), it is worth the visit!
Another visit-worthy museum is L´Union Estate, which actually is an open air one. The entrance fee is around 7 US$. The working Copra is truly the most interesting portion but Anse Source D´Argent, the plantation house and the gravyard of La Digueś original settlers will also give you much insight into the history of Seychelles.
