Elves in Sylvarant

We don't really see any canon elves in Sylvarant, but it's clear that half elves are common enough that there's gotta be parents for them, right? So I have created new headcanons as to how elves in Sylvarant live.

Some elves will settle in towns or just outside them, and integrate themselves into human life as much as possible. This is difficult, of course, so often they live on the outskirts like Dirk does and interact with the town minimally.

But my big decision is that a lot of them live nomadically, traveling across continents with small groups, often family. They may meet with other groups at times, but it's a very individual system.

On that note, though, I am now headcanon-ing that Nova and/or his wife are elves and nobody can stop me!!!!

It has been a very long time since I have done anything with lineart and cell shading I must say. I had to relearn everything! This piece was an amazing experience for me due to 1: being reintroduced into the confusing world of KH and 2: forcing me to draw human faces. I admit I was lost at the beginning of how to approach this piece, but I love the end result!

Moral debate (Sheena appreciation)

I'm sure most of you have gone through the "do you steal to feed your family/do you steal medicine to save someone" even though stealing is wrong. If you've ever done this in a group it can cause a lot of chaos and heavy debates. I don't think people realize Sheena was in that moral question on a much longer scale. Her decision required so much strength, thought, and feelings. I can only imagine what she was thinking the whole time and how distraught she must've been until they realized the truth and strived to save both worlds. Because of her moral question, she was able to bring the Chosen's group to the same question. Without Sheena, the Chosen's group just might've destroyed Sylvarant without any thought until they were challenged by a moral issue. In short, Sheena is mostly responsible for saving both worlds and not just one. She deserves a lot more recognition.

I was thinking about this at work earlier and it’s kind of interesting how Sylvarant and Tethe’alla have the same currency since as far as each world knows, the other doesn’t really exist outside of really old stories and a select few people that know the truth.

Imagine if there were two different currencies though.

The gang from Sylvarant come from a small town as it is. Most of them likely already know how to hunt, and Genis has black magic so getting by without useful currency wouldn’t be much of a stretch for them until they obtained their own.

Now, Zelos is loaded, people recognize him even in different cities in Tethe’alla. Imagine them being back at Sylvarant(or Zelos is there solo for whatever reason) but Zelos has no idea about the currency difference until he tries to buy something and the shopkeeper thinks he’s trying to pull something on them. This is a completely different world and no one knows who Zelos is. He’s the broke one here.

I feel there is fic potential for something.
