I have... A bit of a problem. See, my friend is a system. I'm not. They are very... adamant about a character and any negative talk about that character sends them into a bit of a rage? As is one ship with the character( but any RPF would piss me off if it was made about me and also about someone I hate so I get it) but you see... I disagree heavily with their view on this person in canon. And I keep seeing this take and it has genuinely brought down the character to me. I'd like to make an analysis about the character to rekindle that love but... I fear they'll no longer be friends with me if I'm honest about the character? How do I ask them to do this without them murdalizing me and more importantly, not being friends with me anymore?

Okay. I'm no expert on this but I can understand the feeling here. What I would possibly suggest is that you let them know beforehand that you are talking about the in source version of the character on what your friend has as a system.Therefore this is different from Your friend and that character from source.

It's difficult if your friend is the exact copy of the source character however 9/10 usually source and fictives vary from each other. And are very different from each other. Plus your friend should understand this and not get mad at you for expressing your opinions about the source character they happen to have. I would try to explain to your friend how Source them vs actual them are two different and separate individuals. Hope this helps, wishing you the best of luck there.
