milou actually used to be a very quiet and shy kid ... at least, that's until you knew her better. even back then she just kind of ... adjusted to whoever she was interacting with and balanced out a relationship. by default she kept to herself and would shy away from interacting with other kids, unless forced to interact or the other party cough reese being persistent. e.g. since they were neighbours, silas and milou gradually became good friends. the more time they spent together, the more milou started to balance him out by being an adhd kid on crack vs silas' quiet and reserved self.

ANYWAY. despite it all, milou would say she had always felt a kind of loneliness that couldn't be replaced within fernweh after the fire & her grandpa's withdrawl. yet after leaving the town, it became painfully apparent just how lonely she really felt & thus started to really lean into becoming the person that reese could draw out of her. milou was really introverted, but not anxious to meet new people or talk to them. however, now the literally only person she could rely on was herself. she couldn't really get away with only speaking when spoken to anymore and had to take matters into her own hands. opening her mouth whenever an opportunity presented herself became her go-to tactic and she was ( still is ) absolutely shameless about it with humour quickly becoming her first line of defense.
