Carnival workers AU
This may not be what you meant but my brain took it as “circus AU” so… there it is.
Shiro and Allura are acrobats! Sparkly leotards, flips and trapezes, they are dang good at what they do and work as a good team. They’re pretty much the headline attraction here, definitely the most popular.
Hunk is, naturally, the strongman. He also does juggling. Sometimes Lance heckles him about how a guy that can juggle twelve flaming swords is nervous about things, which he retorts with “because my act is something I’ve practiced so many times I can do it in my sleep, Lance, this isn’t.”
Pidge is a little young to perform so she mostly helps manage the equipment and lights and such. In her opinion she wins because “I get to sit here in this nice cool booth while you guys are down there getting all sweaty.”
Lance is a magician! He’s great with sleight of hand and really good at capturing the audience’s attention. You know if anything goes wrong it’s Lance who scoots out on stage and does some unscripted bit to keep the audience entertained.
Coran is the ringmaster, announces the acts, brings considerable spirit and energy to it, he’s getting older but the audience will never know that. He’s sort of looking to train up Lance as his eventual replacement, but he’s not retiring anytime soon. The show must go on!
Keith is a bit of an acrobat, mostly does stuff with fire- breathing it or dancing with it. He also does stage fights sometimes which he can team up with Hunk for. Gets the absolute worst stage fright out of the team so his ‘acting persona’ comes across cool and stoic but he basically doesn’t talk much when he’s onstage. it’s also the only time he ties back his hair.
