A mobile kicker table

In the series “foosball and design”, we present you today a table than we can bring anywhere with us: on the beach, in a picnic party or public park. A table called “Pappkicker”

This table is a (of course) German creation and it logically called “Pappkicker” by its creator. The idea is to have a light table that people can bring with them as simple case. And, by the way, to bring some fun and conviviality anywhere. The other thing is also the possibility to have his own personal figurine. Actually, different characters are proposed and they are easily interchangeable. But better that long sentences and few words, you could find below a video presentation of the table. World Cup 2014

The official website for the next World Cup is now available on-line. This is a new site 100% dedicated to the up-coming ITSF World Cup and world Championship in Nantes.

Not only it presents the competitions and players for all countries which participated to this International event such as the schedule, some videos or others goodies, the website proposes also some tourism informations about the city to help every one to organize theirs journey there. Two Eleven tables

We continue on the design with the tables presented by the German firm 2Eleven. A company which proposes some rather beautiful models with a great cleanness design. For pieces composed of leather, wood, aluminium and/or carbon.

Because, some time, pictures explain much more that few words, you could find above a first photo of the model "Stadion 1" from the collection called "2eleven natural".

This collection is one the series proposed by the firm. This one presents two models, stadion 1 (photo) and 2. The difference between this two tables are the LCD screen include on the second.

Also, 2eleven proposes the model "original". Mainly composed of carbon, this model is a bit more colourful but can suite with all kind of modern interior.

So, to be honest: the tables realised by this company are made for up-market and are more in destination of luxury lofts or hotels or VIP lounges.

Kozoom broadcasting, June 2012

During this month of June 2012, 2 big competitions about foosball will take place: the Bonzini WCS in France and the European Champions Cup in Germany. Each of this tournament will be broadcast in direct live on the Kozoom website.

Actually, like is announced on the table-soccer mag published on Kozoom.com, the production team will be there with Jim Stevens and Ben Mason as hosts for this 2 major events presented by the ITSF.

The Bonzini WCS will take place in Pontoise (near Paris) the from the 15th of 17th of June and the European Champion Cup in Hannover the week after (23th and 24th of June).

So, forgot the EURO 2012 of football the time of this two week-end to watch some real sport.

Basic Defending - Pin Shot

The pin shot defence bears some similarity to that for snake shots (see here). The pin shot generally involves a smaller sideways movement of the ball.

Most players seem to find fast pull pin’s easier than fast push pin’s, so set the players up to cover the pull more. If the attacker prefers to push, adapt your defence accordingly. The keeper typically has more time to move to block the shot, and so will usually be used to cover the side you believe the attacker is most likely to shoot.

If the attacker is consistently scoring round the outside of the defence, stagger the players more and increase the width of the player movement. Although this increases the gap between the players, it can be hard for pin shooters to shoot straight down the middle.

Bonzini WCS

Organized by the French Federation of Table-soccer, the Bonzini WCS that will take place in Pontoise (France), from June 15 to 17, 2012. Various competitions, exclusively on Bonzini tables, will be proposed in the different categories such as open, women, juniors, seniors or disabled.

As in previous years, the first 3 Open Singles winners as well as the winner of the Women, Juniors and Seniors Singles categories will be automatically qualified for the World Championships. These players will also benefit from a travel package to attend the next World Championships (each package amounts to € 250 to € 800 depending on where they reside).

Registration for this tournament are open on the ITSF website via the on-line software FAST.

Basic Defending - Snake shot

The Snake shot has the advantage of being able to go either way (or straight) at great speed (cannot be raced). Most good snake shooters are also able to vary the length of the shot, and will score if any gap is visible for any length of time.

The best snake defences work by continually opening and closing gaps, such that by the time the attacker has seen the gap you are already closing it. A good way is to wiggle the goalkeeper and the defender bars back and forth (try not to create a predictable oscillation), with the players staggered ¾ to a whole ball’s width apart. Many players swap the goalie and defender over every 3rd or 4th movement, in order to disrupt the attacker’s rhythm.
