Hello Lock! First off I wanna say I ADORE your writing! Dabi is one of my favorite BNHA characters and the way you write him is amazing! I was wondering, since you catergorized him as Cruel, do you think Dabi would truly love his darling? Or just see her as a cute possession and form of entertainment? Love you❤️❤️
hello!! ahhh thank you so much, dabi is a very fun yandere to write for. I like getting into his mess of a head and trying to figure out what he’d be doing in certain situations. he’s likely going to be the type that starts off with seeing his darling as a plaything. yes, they’re cute and all, but just a way for him to pass the time. his lifestyle has made what he’s able to do limited, so there’s a lot of free time in between league of villains stuff (especially since it tends to happen at night. so during the day he’s just roaming around).
it would take an unexpected outside intervention for dabi to realize how much he’s grown fond of darling. whether it be another villain trying to mess with them, some rando flirting, etc... in that case, even he is surprised by how riled up he gets. weren’t they just supposed to be a way to pass the time? that’s how he’s labelled his darling for a while. when he’s confronted with the fact that he cares for darling, albeit in a twisted way, it’s odd. dabi gets over that part though pretty fast.
the main reason why I characterize him as cruel is because of his outward interactions with darling. he’ll think about how much they mean to him and then proceed to go mess with their life for fun. dabi just has a warped sense of care, and doesn’t really see the point in pretending to be something he’s not.
