Do you make these scale models yourself?

Depends on what you mean. I research AFVs and kits, pick a base model with appropriate aesthetics and time period, chop it to pieces and put it back together with plasticard and bits box finds, then paint it with a relevant scheme and markings. C'est la, c'est tout.

Are you a professional photographer? You are clearly quite good at it and have put a lot of effort into it.

This is so nice of you to send, thank you for the massive compliment! You made my day tbh, you are thoughtful and awesome. Photography is a great love of mine ( I may enjoy it more than drawing, which was my first love growing up) and I am compelled to take photos when inspiration strikes. It’s like an impulse, like breathing or blinking, and if I can’t take a photo of a scene that strikes me, I get very cranky 🤣 On the flip-side, when I get to take a shot of a scene that magnetizes my eyes to it, so much I cannot look away, I get SO JAZZED. What a rush!! 

I am not professional, and I use a technically amateur camera. (I use the highest end amateur camera, it still broke the bank, but I am extremely grateful to have it! All professional photography cameras are so expensive, uhhg. Oh my goodness I wish I could afford a Leica.) 

I have never professionally been hired for photography work, and I don’t really make much money selling my prints (though I literally scream anytime someone does purchase my work. It makes my heart sing the happiest of songs, not because of the money, but because someone spent their hard earned dollars just to buy something I photographed, because they truly enjoy the art/scenery. that is so cool to me?? ;-; I am always so happy whenever someone likes any of my photos), but I love photography so much. It would be wonderful to be a professional photographer for a travel company or something nature/landscape related, but those jobs have massive competition that I don’t think I could win, to be honest. And it would be so fun to set up a booth at a farmer’s market, but the coastal markets are very expensive and photography is difficult to sell. 

It makes me extra grateful that I can share my work with a good community of people online. People get to see it, interact with it, and then it feels like real art photography ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 People like you motivate me to keep going and keep getting better. I hope I am able to go on safe trips again soon, so I can share more adventures with you all!

I don’t know if you’re the right person to ask, but why are Yugoslavia monuments so wild? They’re unique, but do you know why they’re so different from everybody else’s?

These monumental structures were raised to commemorate the terrible battles, mass executions, and concentration camps that scarred the Balkans during World War II. They are also a symbol of the resistance against the fascists by the NOVJ. 

The overall feel when they were created was based upon the Futurist movement.  The space ships shapes are meant to keep moving towards a brighter day. The boarder idea is the anti-fascist notion of overcoming the struggles caused by the fascists but also the victory of life over death. 

Instead of being dedicated to a single Partisan leader, they also follow Tito’s United Brotherhood idealism.That whether someone was Bosnian, Croat, Slovene, or Serbian that they all fought against a common foe. And all were equal in the fight against fascism (though this obviously didn’t play out in reality). 

Since they are also abstract, they are somewhat meant to be a giant middle finger to Soviet realism and Stalinist classicism. The Yugoslavs were never a part of the Iron Curtain and that was always a thorn in Stalin’s side. 

Probably most important, most of them were created locally by the working class and not necessarily the government itself. So it goes back to being to a solely Yugoslav vision of communism.

Best/coolest multi-color patterns on chickens, or unusual colors?

honestly as for multicolour i dont think you’ll find a broader range of colours than on wild-type/partridge coloured roosters

most unusual colours probably goes to silkies, they have both blue earlobes and black skin

and of course the meme ayam cemani

i think one of the snazziest/bordering on eyesore colourings belong to bielefelder roosters. they have autosexing (can be sexed from birth) barring and i’ve seen one in person and it made my eyes hurt. i love it.

I think salmon faverolles deserve a place because they have such dramatic dimorphism

they may be solid black but australorps’ feathers are extremely iridescent and shine a brilliant blue/green

probably one of the favourite show bantams are belgian millefleurs, they come in both regular and lavender dilute

one of my favourite genes is double lacing notable on barnevelders, they can come in the same colours as single lace

pencilled campines are super stripy this one looks like a gyrfalcon

lastly i just discovered one of my new favourite colours only this year called chamois, here’s a chamois friesian

How did you make it?

I put up painters tape to make the triangles, and then I painted in between them. The whole thing took a few hours, and the painters tape ended up pulling off a little bit of the old paint, but I’m betting it’s because the apartment used relatively cheap paint.

Why are there fewer Abramses than Leopard II’s? And what about armored cars, and amphibious vehicles?

I guess the straightforward answer re Abrams vs Leo here is, because of the location. 😂 I’m guessing in other places that I haven’t written about yet, the ratio may be different.

An even more straightforward answer is, I needed the big bad guy for the sequel to be someone who is very unique and a real challenge to take down, and that wouldn’t be the case if there was lots of Abramses running around!

I suppose it’s kinda similar with certain other tank models/types that I word-of-god ruled to be rarer than the others. The E-series tanks are really seldom seen in my setting, cause in-universe, there was only few places that produced them, long ago. (And that still makes them much more common than they actually were in real life, I guess. LOL)

As for armored cars, nope, all dead.

Ambhibious vehicles - a big maybe! I mean, they may have their uses, I guess? I can see this as a very niche thing.... Tanks don’t really like water, usually. Too much fear of drowning. 💦

I used to live in Berlin. I’m curious, when did you get there and why do you live there now?

I moved here a decade ago for job/family related reasons. Looks like I’m stuck here now. :) Funny thing is, I wasn’t even among the many people in my circle of friends who “wanted to move to Berlin” because well, Berlin. ..thanks got I ended up here anyways. One of my fav quotes about Berlin goes along the lines of, “It’s an absolute misery to live in Berlin, and I pity everybody who never got to experience it.”
