You are literally shitting on people whom you have a common interest with. Literally why would you do that? What kind of validation are u so desesperate for? "Oh im a fan of tadc but IM NOT LIKE THE REST OF THE FANDOM". Ok "girl who is NOT like the other girls" who the fuck cares about u anyways?

Im going into the theatre full of excitement because not only im going to see the last ep of my favourite show but also i get the amazing chance to see it along with people who are just as excited as me and are as fanatic of this show as me! THIS IS A COMMUNITY OCCASION!

WE GET THE CHANCE TO BE WITH OUR PEERS AND ENJOY/SUFFER/LAUGHT/GET SURPRISED AMONG OTHERS THAT WILL GET OUR FELINGS AND WONT SHAME US ABOUT IT. THATS WHAT A FANDOM IS ABOUT, TO EXPERIENCE A MEDIA TOGETHER.

BEING IN A FANDOM IS A COMMUNITY EXPERIENCE.

You dont like other tadc fans? You think they are cringe? Toxic? Annoying?

For me personally, it would be significantly easier to be a a blissfully whimsical TADC fan if Jax haters or people who simply don’t like them didn’t constantly throw their two cents into spaces that hold more positive opinions towards the character. Like, you know you won’t agree, so why are you constantly coming into our posts and comments saying the same things that we already know as fact or have already heard be said?

“Gooseworx hates women and Jax reflects that”

“Jax’s backstory wasn’t even that bad”

“Jax being trans is just to excuse her actions”

It’s so obnoxious guys, seriously. You come in and ruin the whole vibe, it makes things less fun for some of the other fans. You have the right to your opinion, but so does everyone else. I make a habit of staying AWAY from content that clearly doesn’t view my favorite TADC character in a positive light, you don’t see me ignoring the very obvious difference of attitude and engaging anyway. Why don’t you do the same so you aren’t constantly arguing with someone? And please for the love of decency stop telling people that by liking Jax they ignore/downplay abuse. People aren’t suddenly abuse apologists for defending their viewpoint on a fictional character.

Weirdly enough I have never once come across an abuse apologist in my time in the TADC fandom, despite people often being accused of doing just that. I feel like to find an abuse apologist you have to actively be looking for stuff like that. Most times, someone who calls themselves “character” apologist, can recognize that said character did bad things, but for the sake of fun and their deep attachment to the character, they ‘overlook’ it because they love and sympathize with them. (See: Me with fucking Starscream. War criminal? Yes. Crimes? What crimes?) It’s not a serious issue at all a vast majority of the time. Why can’t everyone just be NICE to each other??

Artists and animators of the TADC fandom,

I have an idea.

The last few weeks have been a lot for this fandom, and Gooseworx, with the stress of the theater release and the leaks and everything going on online. Today, the Digital Circus finale released in theaters and in a few weeks, it will release on YouTube and The Amazing Digital Circus will come to a close.

I think we're all well aware of the toll this series has taken on Gooseworx. The mass amount of attention it received, the entitled fans bullying Gooseworx online, the leaks, all the drama... I wouldn't be surprised if after the finale releases on YouTube, Gooseworx washes her hands completely clean of The Amazing Digital Circus and disappears off the internet.

But The Amazing Digital Circus did so much more than create some of the worst drama the internet has ever seen.

It changed the game when it came to indie animation. It inspired so many people. It inspired so many different animated series. It showed other creators that it IS possible to create an original show on your own terms that can outcompete anything Disney or any other big corporate studio spits out. It opened the floor for other indie productions like it to be made, it brought so many people together, including some of the most talented artists, writers, animators, and more in the world. It's done so much good for all of us. It's made such a huge positive impact, and I want Gooseworx to know that.

Here is what I propose.

A huge Multiple Animators Project, where we reanimate the original TADC pilot and present it to Gooseworx, as a thank you for everything she's done. No AI or anything, all human made with love and passion. It's like a letter to Gooseworx that says, "Thank you for inspiring us. Thank you for giving us this series." And one that shows just how much of an impact she had on us and how many people she inspired.

I'm not sure how the execution of a project like this would work, but I'm actively working out the details - the re-animated pilot wouldn't necessarily have to be just one medium; it could be multiple, like 3D, 2D, even stop-motion to make it more unique, and give as many people as possible a chance to contribute. We could also include a collage of (SFW) fanart in the credits from the past three years of TADC, and maybe even do some behind-the-scenes interviews or stuff.

If anyone is interested, anyone at all, message me or send me an ask or comment or something. I'm looking for people to help host and execute this project and anyone who might be able to contribute anything at all.

But... I also kinda wanted to wait for the Caine puppet plush to be restocked in the Glitch store...

That being said, I'd have to ask my mom before getting the latter (I'd pay for it myself, but she's the one who can have it SHIPPED here), risking that I may not get it, even after it's back on sale.

As someone who’s observed a lot of terrible fandoms, TADC’s fandom’s problem appears to be that it is mostly made up of children - or at least the very vocal fans are largely children. This is a far cry from, say, S*tar W*ars, where the fans are supposedly grown-ass adults but behave like whiny little diaper babies. Idk, most of the terrible behavior I’ve witnessed in the TADC fandom appears to be a maturity issue rather than TADC fans just being inherently more awful than everyone else.
