What counts as major character death??
Like this character isn’t a major character in the show (at least in my opinion) and definitely isn’t one in the fic but I don’t know if I should warn for their death in the fic anyway?
I have the tag “character death” so I feel like that works???
When you do linkcest, is it linked universe? If it is, are you aware that jojo does not want people shipping them? Like, at all?

I typically will saying it's the LU Boys without tagging Linked Universe. (If I have tagged Linked Universe on any smut stuff here, let me and I'll correct it)
I don't think tagging one of the boys and it says Linked Universe with it is the same as plainly tagging the fandom. Example: (# Linked Universe Time) is something I'll tag for this page.
On Ao3 its harder to avoid the Linked Universe involvment due to when you add who all is in the fic. Normaly I'll add in the summary or in the notes that it's not Linked Universe due to content and if you don't like, don't read.
I get not wanting any Linkcresting/shipping and I respect that, but these things are going to happen because there are people who love it. Every fandom has it.
Would love others opinions, thoughts on this or even suggestions on tags. Especially from others who write/artwork Linkcrest/shipping.

Howdy! I took some of your advice and began filtering my tags. Sometimes I still see stuff if I end up missing a variation of the same tag, which leads me to a pertinent question, if you have the time to answer it:
How do you tag your work (how do you decide what tags go on it) and why? What is the purpose of a tag? How many should you use?

So when I tag my stupid posts, the only one that’s really consistent is “ask something-tofightfor” and the others all vary depending on what I am posting about ... but when I tag my writing, it depends on what it is I’m writing. I usually start by tagging the character, and then the pairing, and then variations of the pairing (for example, din x reader, mando x reader, the mandalorian x reader) and then various tags for the specific stories (the mandalorian: magnetic, ezra: starlight, here comes the suniverse, he’s not here, etc). I want to say that only the first 5? tags are indexed, so while your post will come up as long as it’s tagged with a speific tag when that tag is searched for, I think only the first five tags you choose really count, meaning that if someone follows a specific tag, it’ll only show up for that tag if it’s one of the first. I ALSO think that tumblr changed it recently so you can only use 30 total tags? I want to say that I had way more on earlier chapters of Magnetic, and they just ... got cut off when they changed. So now I just sort of work my way down in terms of importance for tags. the beginning ones are the meaningful ones, and the later ones are the “fun” ones, or the ones that I’ll use for my own tagging purposes (magnetic masterlist, masterlist, writing, etc). I’m probably not the best person to ask about effectively tagging posts for writing content, because to be honest, my stuff doesn’t seem like it’s super visible in the tags that I choose to use - and I’m not sure if it’s because the posts don’t get many initial notes, or just because they get lost among all of the others, or what.
They show UP if I search for them sometimes, but I just searched for the mandalorian x reader, and sorted by most recent - and Magnetic: Din’s POV Part 3 shows up ... but Magnetic Chapter 12 does not, even though it’s my first tag used on that story. Din Djarin x reader ALSO does not bring up the chapter 12 post for me, but it does - again - for the POV and the sneak peek. So I really don’t understand how that works. But it’s frustrating. I’m sorry if that didn’t answer your question! But I hope that filtering has made your time here on this site more enjoyable. :)
thanks-for-the-tea asked us about what tags to use for edits, and the process is the same no matter what category you are submitting for. Also please make sure to send us an ask, not fanmail, as we are unable to answer fanmail publicly.
Make sure to include the tag “welterssubmissions” and/or “the welters challenge” (both is better because it ensures we find and appropriately reblog your piece), for this week you would also tag “week one”, and then “edit”. The challenge tags need to be in the FIRST FIVE TAGS for tracking purposes, and then you can tag whatever else you like, such as the content of the edit, etc. I hope that helps! Feel free to send us any more questions you have about what you should tag works - essentially, we want to make sure that your work is found and categorized appropriately.

Somehow managed to get the Tumblr search function to work on my blog and now im in need a of a Shakespeare tag. Perhaps I should just go with "I need a Shakespeare Tag"
That period where Astarion and Tav are not having sex - would that be considered longing? Should I add the tag to my fic? I'm trying to tag it well to better capture the stuff inside but I'm not sure about a lot of stuff.
Angst is the other one that gets me. Is it like feeling anxiety over something, anything? What is the context for it?
How do you tag a fic that that has a sad ending to say both:
This doesn't have a happy ending, don't read it if you're not in the mood for that today
and
If you're up for enjoying the delicious tension of hanging on the edge of your seat, not knowing if the heroes will win or lose, and can savour the tragic fallout of them losing, then read this which doesn't have any spoilers!
There's 'Surprise Ending', but I don't think that fits the bill. Maybe 'Suspense, Not telling whether fic has Good or Bad ending'?
