This isn’t something she wants to correct him over.

There’s a difference between the rush and ego that accompanies knowing you are wanted (it’s just sex, after all), and the sharp pain that comes later, when you realize that it isn’t just sex but instead something more, but the person you have feelings for doesn’t feel the same.

Maybe he missed the point of their lunch date. Maybe he didn’t catch that today she wanted comfort, not criticism, because she has all the time she needs to reflect back on her mistakes and the foolishness of easily given hearts.

Mimi pokes at the salad in front of her. She moves the lettuce around, and then the little tomato, displacing and replacing until she gives up on understanding her thoughts.

“I wasn’t trying to do that,” she says, tears in her eyes. Don’t mind her - it’s just Mimi, it’s just theatrics, and she’ll be done soon enough. “Because I actually like him.”

One of my favorite things in roleplaying in general is that I like taking on different types of characters with contrasting personalities, so that I don’t get too used to upbeat characters like Mimi or Shauna.
