This is a Tailer, the infant stage of Pursuer's species (name probably coined by Artful). Usually they will hatch from eggs laid in clutches, and the firstborn will feed on the rest of the eggs or fight other hatchlings for nourishment. Whatever laid them will not stick around, but if tailers are spotted in their vicinity, they are considered competition and nutritious themselves.

Miette was born with no braincells and doesn't know she's alive yet. Also her name means Crumb. Pursuer can't eat her because Artful cried a lot the last time and kept him out of the makeshift shelter for days.

Since lil Miette is a female in Pursuer's species would she have the lil orange eyes and teeth? PS she's a lil cutie pie, I'd kill for her❤️

Pursuer's species is technically unisex, so there's no comparable human sex. Color differences in bioluminescence would just be mutations instead of sexual dimorphism! Though since Miette is Pursuer's offspring and doesn't possess this mutation, she is equally green.

The species is also agender, and Pursuer & Miette only end up going by some gendered pronouns because other people chose them (Pursuer was called he/it by the government, and Miette is called she/it by Artful & Pursuer respectively). Without human contact, they likely wouldn't even be using them at all.

What do tailers eat (excluding their siblings) and how are they able to do that considering the lack of providers?

Tailers will usually grow up eating anything that moves that isn't a plant or mushroom. Most of the time it'll scale from bugs > small animals (lizards, rodents) > medium animals (fox, an average catfish), all depending on their size at the time. Sometimes they'll try for something bigger than them too, and those moments are determining factors in their survival. Since they spend most of their time invisible, most of their prey is quite easily caught, as long as they don't make any noise or approach from upwind, both skills they'll eventually learn through hunts. As they still can't pick up anything with their little feet yet, all they can do to explore the world at this stage is the same as a lot of other animals - biting.

Might be an uncomfortable ask, its fine to disregard this, are you going to delve into the pursuer species' reproduction?

I think I've given enough information for people to assume how it works in the tags of the original tailer post.. otherwise I dunno if I currently trust people to be normal if I approach this from a strictly scientific pov lol. So short answer... not really?

Tailers are really just the infant stage of Pursuer's species that I made, so it's not really my own original thing by any means, just a speculative biology thing I did outta passion. I don't really mind anybody making anything off of em, such as fanart, ocs, n the like :.)
