I sometimes wish Ember had not come with me. He would have been happier at home, becoming a blacksmith, than following me on a miserable journey with no clear goal, possibly forever. He wasted the last of his childhood on me, with next to nothing to show for it. 

But, the thought of going on my own is worse. Going through all of that without him, traveling and surviving all on my own... It makes me shudder. I feel so selfish, being happy that he wasted his life on me.

one time i burnt my hand because i wanted to see whether the plastic of a lollipop stick would melt inwards and fill the hole in the tube or outwards and burn my hand. I got my answer. I feel like Willow would definitely do the same thing.

🔪 which muse would you most likely be enemies with

Not including my villainous characters, it would be Atsu. He’s spoiled, somewhat rude and self-conceited, and in general I have a hard time getting along with the “chaotic good” mindset of helping people with no regard to laws.

😔 which muse is the biggest spoilsport

Kasim is a wet blanket in terms of just no participating in anything, but he won’t stop things, usually. He’ll just leave and let people suffer the consequences on their own.

When he does care about you, though, he can be somewhat of a spoilsport because he worries about said consequences. In addition, he’s got that nagging “what if someone in authority finds out about this” voice. He doesn’t like getting into trouble.

Atsu is the worst one, but Nimira is a close second. Seeing as how she’s a duergar, her tastes are downright toxic to anyone without the resilience. Her group members have gotten sick partaking in her food and drink before. What makes it worse is that more often than not, her food is just boiled and salted anyway??? So either it tastes like nothing or you get sick.

Kasim. He has the “artistic eye” so to speak, looking for inspiration where he can find it, and he is deeply devoted to his weaving.

16, 17, 18 Nukki

16. Anger headcanon

Nukki’s “Rage” as a barbarian isn’t really anger as much as it’s zealous excitement in combat. In fact, Nukki isn’t really an angry person as a whole, because why be angry when life is so exciting and full of cool things? It makes it hard for them to understand when other people get angry, because geez what’s the big deal? It’s just temporary anyway. 

Nukki does get genuinely upset with necromancy, though, especially of slain warriors. People who were willing to lay their lives down for a great cause with weapon in hand deserve an ultimate rest, so disturbing that rest does get her properly angry. She spares little sympathy for necromancers as a result. 

17. Soft spot headcanon

As it turns out? They have a soft spot for Kiwi, a satyr in Champions of the Sky. It started off as a dumb joke during a drinking game, but then they kept up the game for way too long, and by now Nukki genuinely listens to Kiwi like they’re married. He’d probably have the best odds out of anyone in the guild to talk her down from some Dumb Shit. It’s kind of emblematic of Nukki’s tendency to just ride impulses and see what comes out of it. 

18. Favorite possession headcanon

If you asked them, they wouldn’t be able to pick. Nukki has so many possessions they love that picking a favorite is next to impossible, and they don’t really want to have a favorite, either. They like to go “Oh I love this thing! And this thing! And this thing!”

3. Sleeping headcanon

He sleeps much, much better with someone next to him. With Ember gone, Kasim has been having much more restless nights, and makes up for it by having a ton of pillows to get close to the feeling of holding someone. The night him and Datta shared a bed was probably the best sleep he’s had in a long time.

Side note, Kasim is an early-to-bed-early-to-rise kind of person, much to the chagrin of the normal people he interacts with.

7. Kissing headcanon

Kasim has never kissed someone romantically. He used to give lots of platonic kisses on cheeks and hands and heads, but the actual romantic lip kissing is something he didn’t really get the chance to try, and when he was exiled he wasn’t really in a romantic mood.

By now, he wouldn’t know what to do if he was kissing someone. There would be a lot of hesitance and inward “am I even doing this right? They probably think I’m terrible at this.” 

17. Soft spot headcanon

Aside from cookies, Kasim also has a soft spot for halflings. He spent a good chunk of his life being trained in a halfling clan, so he speaks fluent halfling and finds himself acting way more polite and amenable towards any and all halflings. 

18. Favorite possession headcanon

Kasim’s favorite belonging is probably his weaver’s tools. It’s one of the few things he brought from home, and he’s used them for almost a decade by now. Plus, he uses them to make his rugs, the culmination of his creative outlet.

It does become strange, being the oldest in my circle, and by several centuries, too. I realise it is part of being an elf surrounded by the short-lived races, but even by their standards... I do wish I had someone more my age to talk to at times, but I suppose few people my age would have reason to still be adventuring. 

It does make it hard to always see them as equals, as much as it hurts to admit. They’ve seen so little of the world, have so little experience... One has to stop herself from speaking out of turn when they act as if they know everything.

Ashta

2. Cooking headcanon

Ashta can’t cook very well.

All he knows how to cook up is a big cut of meat- and even then it might not be fully cooked. When he was travelling on his own doing mercenary work, he would actually just use his dragon’s breath on whatever he was about to put in his mouth. 

He’s not very smart.

5. Bathing/showering headcanon

Ashta’s a clean boy. He gives himself sponge baths when he can since his body is pretty low maintenance- he doesn’t sweat or get stinky really, he just needs to wash off the blood and dirt. He does appreciate a good soak though, and will try and find a bath house to relax in whenever he arrives in a town. 

12. Jewelry headcanon

He doesn’t have much, actually! He has his signet ring from his family, and a necklace he wears around. But other than that, he’s not as finely decorated as the rest of his kin at home.

18. Favorite possession headcanon

He has a necklace. It looks home made and is a bit damaged- the colourful beads have faded and some have been broken and fallen off entirely, leaving it as mostly string. He keeps it tucked in his armour or bag off show.

2. Cooking headcanon

Evari is a decent cook. Most of the meals she’ll make are good, filling meals- a big cut of meat is usually involved. She doesn’t make anything extravagant, she doesn’t really see the point. As long as it’s filling and tastes good, she’ll make it.

6. Hugging headcanon

Evari has Big Strong Arms for Big Strong Hugs. She’s actually not very physically affectionate, but a hug from her is warm and protective. With the arms of a buff, six foot ten lady around you, you know everything’s gonna be okay!

11. Wardrobe headcanon

Evari’s wardrobe is pretty plain. She doesn’t see the point of dressing up all fancy when she can wear something comfortable and casual. She has something nice for more formal occasions, but otherwise… nah. 

13. Nickname headcanon

Evari doesn’t really give or get nicknames. She feels a bit weird about it- a lot of the people she knows are people she considers co-workers, so being so informal as to use nicknames or have nicknames used on her is a little weird to her.
