Anyhow! I previously laid out what I think are the possible options rn and yes, giving JD his due could be part of it. Some have said it's N's "turn" for PR but I always view it through the lens of N helping L meet his obligations... if the obligations are ongoing (even if it's a cool down period, as you say, w/ nothing left for L to do), N must continue to distance herself since A is publicly w/ L, not N 😞. If L has satisfied the terms, and Lukola is free to launch, JD is still a convenient decoy and/ or distraction until the moment comes.
As for your point of Lukola not giving up Polin, sometimes it's hard to remember that they likely haven't chosen this, but the interview you cited is a good reminder. N's attitude, even towards her fictional character, reinforces that when you have a good thing going, you keep it going... (I love this interview, btw)
