Fauna Benevolia wasn’t always a Benevolia. She was born as a Jackson but was soon adopted by Flora’s mother and moved with them to the large house in the middle of the forest. She doesn’t remember much of her life before, but her life after was far better than she could imagine. She was loved and encouraged to be the best that she can be.

Although, some people wish that she would abandon her dream of becoming a professional pastry chef and baker, Fauna tries and puts in a lot of effort into her baking, but it stinks. Her cakes are as dense as bricks, her mousse falls flat, and every now and again you’ll bite into an egg shell. The list goes on. She’s just not good at baking, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t excel in other areas. Fauna is adept in charms, like Flora, and transfiguration.

Fauna was able to spend more time with Aurora than Flora did when she first came to live in the large hidden home in Idaho. She followed the younger girl around the best she could to make sure she was safe. While Aurora wasn’t one of the Benevolia girls, Fauna surely saw her as a sister.

Flora: Fauna’s older sister is Flora. She doesn’t have the heart to tell her that she can’t sew so she lets her think they’re pretty.

Merriweather: Merriweather is the baby sister. She likes to remind Fauna that she can’t bake.

Aurora: Fauna’s mother is one of the healers that take care of Aurora. They are fairly close friends and consider one another sisters.

Ella had a very happy early childhood and she’s very grateful for that, she knows a lot of people she goes to school with were never as lucky as her in that regard. She had a kind and passionate mother who taught her the importance of believing in the good in others. She learned the kind of patience and charity from her rarely seen in others and in a way that really stuck. Her mother died when she was eight but her spirit never did and lived on within her.

A few years later her father got remarried to a woman who, truthfully, never could really hold a candle up next to the light that her mother was. The new Mrs Tremaine wasn’t as kind or selfless but despite that, Ella did her very best to accept her and love her. Things changed after her father died, leaving her alone with her step mother and sisters. It didn’t happen all at once but over the course of a year she went from being a member of of the Mississippi household to being a servant.

When she was finally accepted to Ilvermorny, the place became a retreat from her home, a home away from home in many ways. Old habits die hard of course and she spends much of her time cleaning the Pukwudgie house and helping to cook. In a word, she is dependable if a bit unremarkable in her classes. An area in which she is quite remarkable is her inheritance left to her specifically by her mother. When she turns eighteen she’ll be able to take her money and run far from her step mothers and step sisters but will she be able to leave the house loved so dearly by her mother and will her step mother even let her leave? Ella doesn’t know the true extent of her inheritance and she doesn’t know her stepmother’s plans to take it for herself.

Herc doesn’t know who his birth parents are. He grew up in a very loving two parent home on a farm in Alabama but considering how old they are, he knew from a very young age that he couldn’t be theirs. He didn’t feel unloved just that a part of him was missing, a part he wanted to understand. He felt like an outsider in more ways than one and so he convinced himself that he would be happy if only he knew the truth. He wanted to know where he came from for emotional reasons mostly but also very practical reasons. Herc has incredible strength, far beyond that of a normal human being and he has for quite some time. When he was seven he could lift up the back end of his dad’s pickup truck and when he turned sixteen he could lift it above his head.

Going to Ilvermorny was a bit of a shock to his system, partly because the weather was so incredibly different but also because for the first time ever he wasn’t necessarily the biggest freak in the room. He felt like he fit in and that did wonders for his confidence. He started to genuinely train his muscles in secret, bulking up, going from zero to hero, joining his house quidditch team as a beater and the guard club. Sure his grades aren’t great but that was never really a necessity for a career as a frontline auror.

Everything in his life seemed like it was starting to make sense and the mystery of his past didn’t plague him as much as it had. He was getting very good at avoiding the question but the thing is, avoiding problems that way tends to make them worse. He’s now consumed with trying to find his birth parents but he doesn’t know where to look or even how. He needs to find someone smart, an investigator but who to approach?
