Kuroiwa family headcanons:
- Bujin used to imitate his father a lot when he was younger and some of those traits stuck with him as he grew older, particularly his stance, stare, and view of life
- Each and every school Bujin went to, people would whisper about him and his quiet, stoic behaviour but it never quite managed to bug him because Takeomi was proud of his father who was the same way
- In addition to being a good cook, when he was younger (and up until his mid-teens), Bujin’s mother was able to best him at arm-wrestling
- On the days the two of them manage to have off together, Yoriko teaches Takeomi how to cook. He’s always interested in her food, and always eager to help out, standing by her side and grabbing the next ingredient for her to use. (He also doesn’t mind taste testing some of the new recipes she creates from time to time)
- Unnoticeable to most, Takeomi noticed the slight change in his father after the death of Urie Mikito. The week afterwards he sat and tried to comfort him in his own way but never once manages to catch his father crying about it. It’s a bit bittersweet when he finds out about his father’s death but he’s glad when he discovers that the elder Kuroiwa finally cried about the situation. Perhaps, he thinks, in those final moments, being able to communicate to Urie Kuki his guilt at having been unable to protect his fellow squad member, his father was finally at peace, free from regrets.
