So we know Sunny and Kel used to play Petrocks, and even based Pluto on Kel’s petrock, Which makes me wonder...

What if OCOTACO was Mari’s pet rock?

It’s not unreasonable to assumed that Mari got one too to play with her brother, she may have picked OCOTACO and if that’s the case it would mean...

Tako-chan / ABBI was based on Mari’s petrock.

We can see in early concept art that Mari and Tako-chan used to be close, either stargazing together or chatting. It would explain why Tako-chan/ABBI is The Wisest. She’s channeling Mari’s voice of reason in Sunny’s mind as Mari’s literal avatar, and its probably why Abbi ended up defying Omori.
