All acrylic gouache except for April 10, which is J. Herbin grid nuage fountain pen ink and gray Pentel Pocket brush ink.

Peonies and some sketches 💐

Hi friends! I really love the thick structure of gouache paint on a painting, but I'm still quite a beginner at it. However, this painting worked out really well and I'm very proud of it! 😊

I really wanted to make the peonies stand out against a black background even though I knew it might blend with the foreground, but I'm happy I took that risk because I really like the stark contrast between the light and dark colours 💗

Face à l'immense fiasco de ma tentative d'aboutir mon idée première, dont l'image floue dresse le témoignage, j'ai dû me résoudre à davantage de simplicité. Cette démarche – moins ambitieuse à n'en pas douter – me donna toutefois matière à l'élaboration d'un nouveau plan. À venir bientôt, donc, le modeste résultat de ce nouveau plan.
