hi saw a post about loop and now I'm thinking about loop. thinking about the 2hats fight and it's implications in specific, about how Loop doesn't have [Done Heal] but has [Regener-ade]. about how they have [Just attack.] but no paper or rock attacks.
it's a siffrin that had no need to keep their friends in good health, just to keep them alive until the king struck them down or he was fast enough to kill him. a siffrin that never took long enough of a break to study how their friends fought, and therefore never learned anything except scissors.
every single difference about loop and siffrin comes down to the fact that siffrin took his time, even down to the way they learned attacks. also, something something loop is so weak during the last fight because they're still suffering from the craft exhaustion that their failed version of act 5 costed them with live laugh love the chronic fatigue craft exhaustion headcanons <3 and YES I THINK LOOP WENT THROUGH A FAILED ACT 5 BECAUSE SIFFRIN ONLY HAS THE MEMORY THAT ALLOWS HIM TO LOOP BACK IMMEDIATELY UPON DEATH IN ACT 5 yeah I think the idea of loop giving up in an equivalent of an act 4 situation is fun. but consider them only giving up like, a few loops after no one saved them in act 5. enough time to stew in their failure, and feel the full effects of their craft exhaustion
last thing on my mind is just how Loop respects their limits so much less than Siffrin. loop, due to just throwing themselves against the king, has learned to fight until they can't anymore, in every single situation. they never back down from things in conversation with siffrin, they refuse to let siffrin back away from the final fight, and they literally fight until they collapse. on the other hand, siffrin has learned to fight until he wins. important distinction, because siffrin has learned that he can just. come back to a fight later, that he can wait a few turns before attacking again. only reason he defeated the king is because he retreated and thought of a plan, only reason he got information is because he waited through extremely long dialogue mid fight with the king. unlike loop, who goes at 100% until they crash, siffrin doesn't mind an extremely long or boring fight. he definitely gets impatient, but he'll take his time if that's what they need to win.
just, it's interesting. obviously I love the parallels the parallels between the two make me absolutely ill but the ways that they handled the time loops so differently, and the ONLY reason they handled the timeloops differently was because of loops literal presence??ough my god. siffrin only took his time because he had someone reassuring him the whole time that the answers were there if he looked, that begged for him to come visit Dormont, that AUGAOAUGUSGH EXPLODES
