Worked a lineless version
What if… my Orlesian Agent of Fen’harel as Rook ?
During the gap between Trespasser and DA4, Tamril is ordered to infiltrate the Shadow Dragon in order to recruit more agents for Solas. Eventually, he figure out what he is truly working for, and decide there might be better ways to achieve his own goal.
The reason why he was recruited as “Rook” was for being an ancient agent of Solas.
Nothing sure here though, for I have yet to see if this story can fit with the background narrative in the actual game.
Hopefully Minrathous look enough like Minrathous, struggled a lot with this one.
Two orlesian elven kids having some happy time.
So I drew my ocs Almael (white haired kid) and Tamril (brown haired one) during their childhood. They were best friends and grew up together. After Almael’s magic manifested at age of 9, he was sent to the circle of Montsimmard. After long time not seeing each other’s, they meet again (mostly by chance) in adulthood. At this time, Almael became a Mage working for the Inquisition (which allied with Mages), while Tamril became a secret Agent of Fen’harel.
Tamril, no context
Tamril as a Veiljumper
In this one version having lived with the dalish for multiple years brought him joy and hope in life. He found a new passion into studying ancient elven artifacts, and he is a lot more sarcastic than when he was still in Orlais. His personality is a bit similar to Felassan.
He has Elgar’nan Vallaslin for extra drama that he chose after he proved himself with the dalish. He liked the idea of a god of vengeance.
An attempt at making Tamril as Rook as a Veil Jumper rogue. Isenril was a warrior because I’ve always struggled a lot with the rogues in previous DA games, but seems the rogue on VG is a lot funnier and much easier to handle. Also love the animation.
In this one version Tamril is an ancient Agent of Briala. Long story short, he was sent with a team to investigate about the agents of Solas in the crossroads a little before Briala lost the access. That’s how his group ended in Arlathan forest. Curiosity took them all, for magic there was unstable. Tamril was the last survivor and rescued by a group of Dalish (Irelin and Strife clan). He later joined the Veil Jumper and found a new passion learning about Ancient Elvhen old secrets.
So now that we know more about the backgrounds of the different possible rooks, Tamril will definitely not be my protagonist, but stay rather on a background position.
I still think of him infiltrating the shadow dragons at some point to recruit more agents for Solas (I believe it was even a plot in the Missing ? It’s been a while since I’ve read this book and I borrowed it to a friend).
He might, maybe end on the side of the antagonists and help Elgar’nan? I will play the game first and see the story to decide what I do with him !
In an rp on discord (where he isn’t an agent) he meet a dalish elf in Haven and plan to join his clan. If he came to have Vallaslins, he would choose Elgar’nan’s.
I m really attached about my oc Tamril and would really love to play him in game so I thought of a road which could work for him being my Rook.
After Tamril became an agent of Solas, he is sent to infiltrate the Shadow Dragons in Tevinter (travelling thanks to the eluvian) with the mission to recruit more elves for Solas. Double agent Tamril.
However, as he realize what Solas plans are, and what he is truly working for, Tamril leave the agents and ends working for the Shadow Dragons for true.
Although he originally really despise humans for his very bad experience with them, as shadow dragons also count some humans, he realize that not all humans are bad, and for how much he wish to see Elvhenan back, he think that maybe risking to kill the majority of the population isn’t the best idea, especially as many elves will die too. Tamril believe there might be a better way to achieve his goal, finding a new land elves could come home without deeming the majority of the population.
Meanwhile, he also became a skillful fighter. Being an ancient agent of Solas would be the exact reason why he was recruited as “Rook”.
(But maybe or maybe not he ends helping Solas again depending of the game.)
Still waiting to know more about Rook background to know if this could fit though.
