Currently re-obsessing with Brother Bear again so have some gifs 🙌🏾
My top favorite older Disney movies are by far this movie (I like Brother Bear 2 as well, just not as much as the original) and The Lion King series~
(I haven't seen the new Lilo and Stitch film yet, and I don't plan to, but I did find out what happens like everyone else, so...)
I know what you're up to at this point, Disney! I know that if you end up deciding to make a live action Brother Bear, you're gonna do the following:
•Make Denahi not related to Kenai and Sitka. Like at all (Maybe a childhood friend instead)
•Make Denahi an irredeemable hunter who decided to hunt down Kenai for...no real reason at all (Despite his whole arc in the movie being that he went after Kenai in bear form because he thought the latter was killed by the bear, and he let the grief of his "death" take over him and nearly make him go insane)
-The moose either don't appear at all, or they do appear and they both no longer have their accents and are no longer funny (plus they would have no real role in the film)
-Sitka wouldn't even die, which was the whole reason Kenai killed the bear in the first place???
-Sitka would be more stern and annoyed by Kenai than gentle and patient
-The Transformation scene would be extremely rushed and would have NONE of the incredible visual effects
-Also, no Great Spirits
-Koda wouldn't even be affected when he learns Kenai murdered his mom
-Heck, Kenai would have no regrets when telling the story in general. Rather than it being the whole "Listen, Koda, I really messed up, okay? Your mother's not coming back because I killed her!', it would go more like "I killed your mom, Koda. Lol"
-No songs???
-Kenai would either die in the end, or he would decide to turn human instead
-Tanana wouldn't be the one to tell Kenai he turned into a bear
-Actually, would Tanana be there at all???
-No fun times at the Salmon Run (the time spent would be really rushed and would go to Koda telling his story within 2-3 minutes)
-Denahi wouldn't even make a major appearance until the mountain fight
-Denahi wouldn't react at all to the fact that he very nearly killed a teenage human who happened to turn into a bear. He would instead be all, "Oh, so you were a human this whole time? Okay. Bye"
-The only other times Denahi would appear would be in a flashback of their childhood or something, and the scene where Kenai meets Koda
-NO PINKY SWEAR?!!!!
-SITKA would be the one to tell Kenai about how love is the most precious of totems and not Tanana
-Sitka would tell Kenai to "get over his hatred of his totem and learn to embrace it", rather than tell him of when he felt something similar about his own totem
-No brotherly bonding sequence 'cause "we need Kenai to turn into a bear as soon as possible"
-Kenai wouldn't gain the brotherly bond with Koda he gains in the animated film
-Unnecessary references to other popular films and/or unnecessary references to modern day society
-Due to Denahi not appearing for the majority of this scenario, Kenai and Koda wouldn't even be aware they're being hunted???
-No scene with the rams
-Horrifying and expressionless CGI animals
-The brothers' parents would only be mentioned once. (in a comment about how they were murdered by a bear and that's why Kenai despises them???) And it wouldn't be subtle either!
-The aforementioned comment about Kenai despising bears wouldn't be mentioned at all after it's said
-(If he doesn't die) Kenai doesn't learn his lesson about how important it is to view life through another person's eyes; He would remain the same arrogant teen he is
-(If he doesn't die) Kenai would take one look at Koda and think "He'll be fine. There's other bears at the Salmon Run who'll care take of him" before deciding to remain human
-No scene with the mammoths ("Oh no! Too much CGI and too much money to work with even though our company has billions of dollars stored away!")
-No comment from Koda about how he's always wanted a brother
-Essentially, it would become a really butchered story
So don't you dare touch this movie, Disney! You hear???
