I never am happy with how my intro looks but I’ll try my best to explain everything! ><

☆ I am an adult (mostly sfw content but nonetheless an adult)

☆ I am late-diagnosed AuDHD & CPTSD

☆ Any pronouns are okay with me! (they/she/he/it/etc.) I am nonbinary, though I just feel my gender is somewhere distinct and in the middle and nonbinary is really the best way i can describe it.

☆ I am a transracial adoptee (as in I was a poc adopted into a white family) so I might talk about my adoption and trauma sometimes.

☆ I am an artist and I like to animate sometimes. What I draw changes a lot as I struggle to stick to the same thing (audhd brain ahah), but I’ll post things as I make them~ I began self-taught though I have taken a few art classes over the years. I am 100% against ai.

☆ I am a part of the furry community~ 🐾 I really need to make more art of my sonas haha.

☆ I am a musician~ I’ve played the flute for 16 years, though not as much nowadays. I’m self-taught on: bass, guitar, piano/keyboard, melodica, saxophone (though I am allergic to reeds so sadly not much anymore ^^’). Bass is the most recent and consistent one, though I’ve collected my fair share of instruments over my life.

☆ I have a deep connection to the woods, the ocean, autumn, and nature and the outdoors in general. It’s been a safe haven for me for a lot of my life & I love being involved with it. ΘΔ

☆ I support: BLM, pro-choice, free Palestine, women’s/afab rights, indigenous rights, disability rights/accomodations, lgbtqia+, climate change is real, we are on stolen land, universal healthcare for all, cringe culture is just ableist, fuck ICE, ACAB, etc etc.

☆ I am agnostic, though always open and curious about all types of religions! I am an ex Christian so I have a good deal of religious trauma, though don’t mind hearing others’ experiences. I love seeking out new information and learning about origins of different religions and spiritualities.

☆ I consider myself spiritual in that I believe: reincarnation, animism, ghosts/spirits/demons (not in any religious way, more like lost souls and souls seeking vengeance), otherworldly beings, cosmic/lovecraftian horror and overall just the unknown. I think way too much.

☆ I haven’t really lurked around on tumblr since about 2019-2020 so I’m sorry if I’m not as familiar with more recent terminology lol, makes me feel old asf but I’m trying to adapt XD if you have any questions for me, feel free! My asks are always open, anonymous optional~

Now, here are just some of my interests that come to mind, though they do change these ones typically always stay the same:

★ I love retro game consoles, specifically the Gameboy Advance SP, Wii, Wii U, and DS systems. I love video game restoration. I am huge on media and game preservation. I also love antiques and old technology like typewriters, old phones and computers, and old gadgets and household items. I just love history and seeing things change over time~

☾ To add to that, my favorite/comfort games as of yet: Splatoon, Donkey Kong Country (2 is my favorite), Mario Kart, Animal Jam, Merge Dragons, Club Penguin, Ratatouille (Wii version), Dogz 2 (Wii), Undertale, Omori, Grounded, Mouthwashing, Animal Crossing, Geometry Dash, BoTW, ToTK, and so many more lol.

☆ I love to read, journal and write stories & poems, though I’m not great at keeping up with them >< I like all kinds of books but especially xenofiction like Warrior Cats, Wolves of the Beyond, and Watership Down. I also love learning new languages, though not proficiently cause I struggle to practice. ^^’

☾ I enjoy anime and manga a lot. My favorites at the moment are: Frieren, Studio Ghibli, Takopi’s Original Sin, The Apothecary Diaries, Junji Ito’s collection, Jingai-san no Yome, Wolf’s Rain, Wolf Children, With You and the Rain, My Dress-Up Darling, Ramen Akaneko, My Roommate is My Cat

☆ Other shows/movies I like: Arcane, Steven Universe, Gravity Falls, Shameless, Brother Bear, The Lion King (first 3 are favs), older Disney movies in general, Arctic Tale, March of the Penguins, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, The Amazing Digital Circus, SpongeBob SquarePants

★ I absolutely LOVE things related to cottagecore, goblincore, and ren faire~ fauns and the fae are just some of the coolest things to me as well as dragons, Greek mythology and folklore. I also enjoy and have participated in witchy things & witchcraft (I’d consider myself a green witch). 🔮 i also have a rock collection any enjoy collecting trinkets and things~

☆ Music & bands I love: Gorillaz, Fall Out Boy, Lo-Fi music, video game soundtracks, the arcane soundtrack, Kendrick Lamar, Biggie smalls, Michael Jackson, Tyler the creator, Green Day, P!nk, bbno$, MCR, Tøp, and so many more lmao.

There’s a ton more things I’m probably missing but that’s the general gist of me and my interests haha. I might add to this if I miss anything in the future.

I am a survivor of the Pulse nightclub shooting, having grown up in Orlando and just turned 20 a month prior. If you didn’t know, there were several families who refused to claim the bodies of their relatives due to their sexuality. One family even had their relative’s name removed from the memorial. Murdered by the same hate with which their families reject them in both life and death.

Many, many people celebrated Pulse. We were told we deserved it. That it was God’s punishment for our sin of loving the same sex. We are sent messages like these I received in 2018:

We in the community often call the victim count 49+ to include the survivors who couldn’t live with the pain.

The event was never officially declared a hate crime or targeted homophobic attack and is rarely listed as one in databases.

At our vigils for those slaughtered, Extremist Christian groups showed up to protest, holding signs like this:

Please understand how much more than just a mass shooting this was. We are still to this day harassed and told we deserved it by some.

This year was the sixth anniversary. The first couple years I received dozens of messages checking in on me on 6/12. Year 5 got enough news coverage for people to think to reach out to me. This year it was my therapist, the woman I kissed in that photo, and a couple of other gun violence survivor friends. People are forgetting already.

With the 7 year anniversary <2 weeks away, I figured I’d reblog this

Struggling to find my grip on myself lately

Got back into contact with my stepsiblings who I haven’t talked to in over 4 years

Found out some stuff about my adoptive mom that is only making me realize just how sick she is and how much she never cared for me nor my siblings

And their dad isn’t much better, they feed off of each other’s toxicity and we get the end of the stick for it

She’s still affecting me even though I haven’t talked to her in 4 years

I’m thankful that I’m not just crazy but I would’ve preferred if it was just me who was the scapegoat and not also them

I know there was nothing I could’ve done but I wish I could’ve been there for them

But sadly that would’ve been impossible because until recently they were still under her roof

And even more devastatingly there’s one who still lives with them because they’re underage

I hate that this is our reality

And I’m not sure what to think, so much of my life was me holding onto something that was never there

And I’m still trying to figure it all out

It’s so hard to imagine the person who I’ve been raised by could be so so awful and so sick

And yet part of me still pities her despite being so insanely angry because WHY would you do this to us?

This has got to have been done already but just in case

Been diving into the world of Gorillaz lately, realized I never really got into the lore and it’s a crime I haven’t sooner cause I’m obsessed with the character lore rn!!!

My wife asked me to draw us in the style so I tried my best but have never drawn the style so it’s my first attempt haha. I genuinely love the style and wanna learn from it.

I feel kinda paralyzed in my art learning nowadays cause I just feel I’m “copying” and not really taking any style in tbh, but also it’s been so long and I’ve gotten complacent in both my style I’ve always been used to and trying to better myself by drawing other styles, especially when I was aiming to become a tattoo artist.

Now that I’m not really going for that (partially due to me trying to get into shops and failing for years, but mostly because of my bad social skills), I’m kinda lost in where to go from here. I’ve drawn in a few styles most of my life so going back and trying to learn again to actually improve is hard. But I wanna keep trying! I can draw and I can replicate things but finding my own style again is very hard especially where idk what I even want it to be really.

as someone who has been involved in union organizing through my dad's union since i was literally in second grade, the way that people on tumblr think unions work drives me literally insane

unions do so much more than just strike. unions bargain. unions sit in at meetings with upper management. unions help people navigate benefits. unions coordinate aid drives for disabled members. my union ran a donations campaign for me for the interim between the end of my allotted paid leave and my disability claim

"unionize your workplace" means so much more than "talk to your coworkers about striking." you gotta actively know what a union is and what a union isn't before you can form one. calls to unionize should lead to more people learning their rights and learning how unions work, and coordinating with orgs like seiu and the teamsters and the aft (and if you don't know what those are, look them up).

My union found me a legal expert to help me check over my last redundancy settlement for free, provided private medical cover whilst I was unemployed, and negotiated a good deal on cheap insurance for their members. It is so much more than strikes.

I really do think an important component of activism is to make sure your motivation is based on a desire to help/improve things for the people being harmed by a system, and not hatred for the ones doing the harm. both for mental health reasons, and because either way you're training your neural pathways and it's gonna turn out a lot better for literally everyone if the question on everyone's mind after achieving a goal is "how/which people can we help next, what's the next step for improving things" and not "who do we need to attack next."

I'm not saying don't be angry, there are a lot of good reasons to be angry right now and it makes for an excellent kick in the pants, just don't define yourself by it or it's gonna poison you and potentially do collateral damage.

My brother randomly told me something that really made me think.

About what "Protect the youth" has become. Idk what it was like in other countries and I know that it very likely could have been stricter than it was in my country back then. But generally:

He was like "When I was 16, there were two kinds of adult content: Horror movies and explicitly depicted sexual content. The first made me have nightmares, the latter (as in what you could get in video rental stores) generally wasn't of much interest to me because it wasn't something I, as a 16 year old, could relate to. And other sexual content that was interesting (and/or helpful) WAS freely accessible. So whenever I saw an "18+" label somewhere, I just completely ignored that content because I knew it wouldn't be interesting at all to me.

But NOW, what's declared 18+ is even an excessive amount of swear words in streams! NOW, when I see an "18+" label, I don't know if it's horror movies that'll give some 16 year olds nightmares, if it's completely unrelatable porn, OR if it's educational sex ed, a 20 year old talking about their really healthy relationship with their partner (that includes intimacy), education about consent in BDSM (which affects 16 year olds as well, there's no age limit to curiosity), a live stream of wholesome musicians who happen to drink a couple of beers during kind of therapeutic talks, or simply people who aren't puritans and say "fuck" a lot! An 18+ label isn't worth anything anymore!"

And yeah... That's just it.

People who talk about body changes during their (first!) puberty are even labelled adult content. Even though puberty very much happens BEFORE adulthood. It's helpful content for minors. And it's labelled "adult" to "protect the youth".

Nothing means anything anymore.
