you frazzle me. you unfocus me. and you’re doing it again now–my words are lost before they even leave my mouth. you unravel me. you leave me to falter. i can see the question beckon on your lips. furrow between your eyebrows. "why me?" and as usual i cannot find the words. they escape me. the same question is on my own: "why you?" then as soon as the words form, millions and millions of reasons why unfold themselves like flags on flag posts flinging themselves into the wind, broadcasting them to the world. the reasons trip over themselves as they rush to leave my mouth. i cannot get the words out fast enough. nothing is ever enough for the way you scatter my heart and piece them back together.
a better question might be “why us?” | jocelyn
meeting you was the opposite of the big bang; here i was, a universe of my own, full of stars and stardust swirling around me like a tempest of creation, so full of everything a girl could possibly dream of and yet, somehow, empty, too spread out. i've always wanted forever at my fingertips without fear of spreading myself too thin. but now, for all of those grandiose dreams of extending into eternity, you have condensed the world into a single point: namely, the one where my lips meet yours; can't you see what you've done to me? you've taken a galaxy of a girl and given her something to collapse into. and now i am a single point of singularity, of infinite possibility, only waiting for you to set me alight.

let’s storm the beaches baby, the sand has our footprints written all over them; i’ll call you push and you’ll call me pull and together we’ll recreate the tides
the world is our oyster and we are the pearl | jocelyn
i love you--the words tumble out of my mouth like a mistake. i am left unraveled & tangled up in my own threads. blue, green, yellow, like vines digging into the ground for some sense of stability. a red one sticks out like a sore thumb, but i try to ignore it as it snakes its way back to you. i can’t meet your gaze but i can still see you staring at me like i used to stare at you and i can’t handle the way the ground has turned up under my feet. let’s go back to the time where you were the one reaching out to me and i was the one foolish enough to take your hand and let the flowers bloom. | jocelyn
Newsflash: Apparently you can't force yourself to stop having a crush on someone
